My first REAL body painting!
So tonight I got hired to do a full body painting, which was my first full body painting ever! I'm super happy with how it turned out, although it did end up taking about 2.5 hours instead of the 2 I was assuming. There is also a side story that makes the evening... well a story. But first I'll show you pics.
Lady Jade was also with me painting, so hopefully she'll post her pics here too. Both our girls wanted to be cats... mine a tiger, and hers was supposed to be a white tiger, then decided at the last minute to be a white leopard. Needless to say, she ended up going thru an entire (brand new) pot of Paradise White on her model! She was pretty dark skinned and had tattoos EVERYWHERE, so it took her at least an hour and a half just to turn the girl white!
Both girls were strippers, and wanted to get painted for their halloween party at work. The leopard was quite a character, and kept jiggling different parts of her when a good song came on. I thought Jade's head was going to explode a few times! She took at least an extra hour to paint, and that was with me jumping in to help after I finished the tiger. My girl was much calmer and totally easy going as a model. In hindsight, I should have had her take off the fuzzy Hello Kitty slippers for the pics, but at that point we just wanted to get out of there!
So alls well, we are behind schedule, but happy with our work, so we leave only to get outside and see that our cars are not where we left them! They got towed!! The one girls boyfriend told us to park in the restaurant parking lot across the street when we got there, so we didn't think anything of it. Turns out they monitor the lot very carefully and the 4 hours we were there was too much. So we eventually got picked up and driven to pick up our cars, spent 2/3'rds of the money we'd just made to get our cars out, and called it a night 6 hours after we started. The strippers said they didn't have any more money to give us for our tow fees, and said we shouldn't have listed to the guy who told us it was ok to park there. She did say she'd try to get us some of the money back but we'll see... I'd say it's a long shot.
All in all it was a pretty crazy night, but at least I'm still super happy with how my tiger turned out.

Amanda...Outstanding job!!!! She looks grrrrrreat!!!! Shannon is right; those stripes are pretty darn good. Yay for you!
As for your car....terrible stroke of luck. But at least the car didn't get "stripped!"

Re: My first REAL body painting!
Great job on the tiger! I'm so sorry about the cars - that's really frustrating.
Re: My first REAL body painting!
grrrreat tigerrr! cool stripes and awesome coverage and blending..too bad about your cars..
Re: My first REAL body painting!
That base is so well laid on, perfectly blended and the stripes are fantastic! I love the 70's doo too! I thought for sure your car was going to be stolen, towed is much better - sort of:)
Re: My first REAL body painting!
AWESOME work on your first body paint!!! Looks like you've done it a million times before.....well, lots anyway. So even and blending is spot on, stripes are perfect. Congratulations. What a shame it ended on such a downer : ( How frustrating!
Re: My first REAL body painting!
Thanks everyone!! I really loved doing it. Even my model kept noticing how I'd have a huge smile on my face after I painted certain areas that turned out great.
I was a little lost on how to stripe the arms and legs though... Which direction they should go and where to start and end them, etc. next time I'll try to be a little more consciouse of that part. The arms are tough cause you can only see one side at a time!

Re: My first REAL body painting!
For placement I just look at a real tiger... imagine them standing upright and paint the stripes the way they are on a real one.

It's so gorgeous!!!
Bummer about the tow, but at least you had the money to get them out! Sucks that it was their fault and they couldn't pay for it:(

Re: My first REAL body painting!
Great paintings...as I was looking, I was really peaked to find out what the story was! I wondered if she was a man...but your story was better.
I have a clause in my contract that the customer will pay for "all parking fees" Maybe I need to add a "strippers pay if I get towed" clause? No, seriously, I may note in my contract that the client (or their agent- and I would consider the boy friend an agent) will be responsible if they give me inaccurate parking information and I encour a fee as a result. I am pretty sure that you could hold the boy friend responsible...maybe. Were there signs about being towed? I wonder what Judge Judy would do?
