Re: Post Here!
So, I decided to try something else as well. Still not completely satisfied but I might still try again:)
Products:
Brushes - Sponges, #2 round, #4 round, round blotter sponge, 3/4" flat brush.
Paint - Tag dark blue, Tag light blue, Tag neon blue, Tag Ocean Green, Tag Yellow, Tag Pearl Blue, Tag Orange, Tag Gold, Wofe FX White, Wolfe FX Black
Step 1: Sponge on a general design for the turtle base in white leaving the center empty. Bring in blues and greens for the water around the edges, do darker colors closer to the turtle and base of the design and do lighter colors near the top for the surface water.
Step 2: Using a custom split cake (Tag black, pearl blue, dark blue, light blue, gold, light green) draw in the shells on the turtle's back and fins. Using a custom split cake (water blue, light blue, dark blue, ocean green) draw in the water details a little more.
Step 3: Using a very dry brush with white on it, start to blend the turtle shell together. Move in inward strokes toward the center of each shell piece until there is still breaks between but much lighter in color.
Step 4: Draw in tribal designs on each shell working in circular designs. Outline edges of turtle and draw in scales on fins.
Step 5: using a round sponge pouncer, create circles for bubbles and then outline in black. using the pouncer create corral at bottom of design. Using a variety of colors of your choice create fish in background and then outline in black.

Re: Post Here!
Sorry about the size of the images I used the hosting attached to the forum and could not figure out how to make them smaller.
I used a sponge and the purple in the middle of my mardi gras rainbow cake from silly farms.
Then I put down Cherrybomb red paradise mixed with bright red snazzaroo with a 1/2 angular shader and the Dk Green paradise using a small square top brush (sorry the label has worn off so I don't know what size.
Then I put down black paradise swirls with a #2 round and added spikes to each swirl.
Wolf white flicked with a #5 round finishes our design out.

I had to delete this post because I uploaded the slideshow. Please excuse my lack of much computer knowledge...

Re: Post Here!
Tribal Heart. I used my escoda #4 and Paradise black. Well, I would do a progressive painting of it, but it's just all black line work.
Re: Post Here!
Still not ready for enter the challenge but glad to give my two cents. Here's a tribal version from my avatar.

Re: Post Here!
Thank you Photomomma! But have you seen all the entries above? I'm just learning from all of you and, although I can see my improvements, I need more confidence before entering a contest. For now I got the encouragement to post my pics next to yours.

Re: Post Here!
Aaarrgghhh this didn't really turn out as I'd invisioned...and took forever!! Like the look of tribal but man it's a tricky skill to learn.
Used No 2 round. Sponge. DFX Black and metalic purple. TAG pearl yellow.
Sponged on yellow and placed purple tribal dragon around the eye.
Outlined dragon in black. Trying to decide which parts to fill in with black.
added black tribalish flame (well, tried to make it tribal)
Filled in some of the dragon black, leaving some purple. Added yellow dots to flame.
Added black eyeline to eyes, drips down one side to balance design. Also sponged on a little purple to the eye lids as I decided I wasn't really liking that much yellow.

Final Image
- #2 and #4 round brush
- Kryolan Red, Black, Dayglow Pink; FAB Ocean Shimmer (metallic green), Sparkle White (silver)
I promise if I win a challenge I will get some decent linework black!! I would not recommend using Kryolan black for this but it's all I have for now...
I am also AMAZED and totally inspired at the other entries and I know I stand no chance but it's fun to show anyway. I wasn't too interested in Tribal but I must say after trying it out I am getting hooked. It is very technical in a way and I've always loved linework / hard outlines and designs.
