Getting kicked in the n*ts by life
We had a cop/enforcement officer come today and tell us that we need to get our yard cleaned up in two weeks or we're going to be cited. I'm so frustrated. It makes me hate all of our neighbors, even though it was only one, we just paid a plumber to come and fix another issue in the dang house that we paid WAY too much for at the peak of the real estate market.
I'm just tired of it. On top of the house troubles we've got a son getting married at the end of the month and all the drama that entails, my cute little daughter Emma just dislocated her knee-cap and so she's in a brace and can't help me as much as she'd planned, we're still dealing with my son's hospitalization in October, we're summoned to go to court to testify against our felon landscaper in a week, and our older dog has decided she doesn't have to go outside to poop. My oldest daughter's car is broken down and so any time we want to see our grandchild we have to go to their city to pick them up and then drive them back.
I swear...middle age sucks. I'm just waiting for my poor parents to start having problems. I know people have worse problems, I'm grateful for the many things that I DO have....but can we just have some peace please! It's been two years of this constant struggle.
I just want to paint.

BIG hugs, mama. You have a lot of stress and responsibilities on your shoulders. So glad you have face painting as a healthy and artistic escape, what a blessing! I am praying for you, for peace and provision and abundance of goodness over your whole family. And for your dog to stop pooping in the house! Hang in there and know that you are not alone.

Denise, I'm praying for you. It sounds like you have a lot of hats to juggle. Relax & have a cup of tea:)

Arrgghh! A dog pooping in my house would be enough to send me over the edge! : ) Man, I hope things turn around real soon for you. Goodluck with your sons wedding.
Re: Getting kicked in the n*ts by life
Thanks for the good vibes. I'll have to go get a cup of tea, Linda...that sounds good right now. I get to paint tomorrow so I can forget about everything else for a few hours.

Those are my postitive thoughts any how....I loathe hard times...but I love my friends and family who help me through.. So nice that you can tell your FP friends about it.

Yes, painting is very therapeutic. I had one of the WORST days of my life about 6 months back & I thought I'd never make it through my face painting gig. The job turned out to be a healing relaxing blissful experience by just face painting! It took my mind off everything for the 1st time that week & gave me the moment I needed to set my brain in a new direction, pray & move on! I'm praying just this for you!

It has been more than 2 weeks ago you posted this, I know I'm a little late with my reaction. Hope it is getting better by now?

Re: Getting kicked in the n*ts by life
I appreciate the well wishes. My son is getting married tomorrow and it's been a little crazy around here getting ready but at least I'm not the mother of the bride! I'm planning on making boutonnieres & posies today and figuring out some spreads for a bread buffet. Son is decorating the wedding cake (he's a chef) and I still need to find some clothes to wear. It's really hard to find women's clothes that don't look like a paint pallet threw up! :p
We found a landscaper and so our whole yard is excavated now and we'll plan out the rest of it soon. I'll post some pictures when we get things a little more finished.
Emma is doing okay. She found a lovely dress that covers her brace and she looks great in it. She and I had a good night face painting at the Promenade and so I was able to pay her a little more this time. She's applying for a job at our favorite sandwich shop...hope she gets it for her sake.
We helped my oldest daughter get her car fixed and licensed with the agreement that she would work at the house weeding/cleaning/organizing but then she found out she might be pregnant again and says she's "tired"...it's hard for me to be excited because her baby just celebrated her first birthday and they have no money. It's hard to be a grandma when they aren't in a very good financial position.
I try to keep the bumps in perspective but sometimes it's hard. I hope that tomorrow goes well and we see a lot of friends and my parents don't cause drama with each other....I want to eat and dance and laugh.
