How do you use the Neon White?
I know it reacts with the black light, but how is the product used? A base, outlines, highlights? Thanks!
Re: How do you use the Neon White?
All of the above ... It shows up clear so I paint it over white. Then your design looks good in regular light too. If you are using it on top of other colours, be aware that it will overpower the base... and in UV you'll get a glare from it... AND if it dribbles or runs wiping it off does not work!! It lingers and shows THROUGH other colours.

DFX... they are the only brand with a UV reactive white, which paints on clear or almost clear. AND it lingers - even after washing it stays reactive!

Re: How do you use the Neon White?
I did a demo of the uv white recently on youtube. I have to warn you that I'm not awesomely awesome like many artists I see on the forums and online groups, but I demo'd it to show people how the neons look in black light.

What was that UV white we tried in UKCon 07, Shannon? Fardel liquid? I have that too as it does nice blobs for nightclub work.
I mainly keep the UV whites for details/ highlights. All the other colours are pretty good in daylight too but I find the blue and the darker pink are not as glowy under UV. And are all a bit crumbly so not fun when making new cakes...

Wolfe FX and Face Art makes clear/neon white.
DFX with this as with the rest of their line came after.
Black light reactive painting is truly done best while in black light. A semi dark room with black lights off to the side is a great way to practice this special painting method.

Re: How do you use the Neon White?
I was totally stymied by the neon white last October. I didn't realize it would go on basically transparent, and I kept trying to get it to do a skull base. Epic fail. I ended up doing the base in white, then going over it with the neon, hoping for good coverage. I never did find out if I achieved that coverage...
Re: How do you use the Neon White?
I have been looking everywhere for the neon white. Is it still being made? I need it for some blacklight gigs.
The only way I could figure out to do my faces was to mix in a neon color with white. Then I warned the kids when they went outside the color would be different from what they were expecting.
As in, for a skull, I mixed white and neon blue. It looked awesome under blacklight, but I warned them that it would be blue once they left the venue and not a white skull.
Same thing for zombies.

Metina, are you going to be getting any neon white in the shop? I have a potential long-term gig at a cosmic bowling alley and they want all UV reactive paints... I have most everything but can't find white anywhere!
Re: How do you use the Neon White?
Completely irrelevant, I know, but I HAVE to say...your white tiger is amazing, Squiggle!!

Why, thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did it for a challenge here a couple of years ago. That's the great thing about the forum... always pushing us to achieve things we'd never think we can do!
Re: How do you use the Neon White?
I haven't used neon very much..once in a bodypaint..but they didn't have that many neonlights and it was too bright in the tent. I mix it with metallic white and sponge it on.

Re: How do you use the Neon White?
I now don't rate any of the UV whites they all annoy me....
Here is a pic of my kit with DFX, Tag, Kryolan and some fardel liquid UVs/ neon.
I give up on the whites - I mean look at the white cake at the front, its as bad as a non-UV white!
The fardel liquid comes in tiny glass bottles and was about the best but only really looked properly white if you managed to get it in thick blobs:(
