I liked the glimpse of the Wolfe Brothers Extreme Face Painting book that I got before my daughter took it home with her, LOL! It came with a DVD as well I believe, and I did see a short clip from it on Youtube and it does look good.

I think I HAVE puchased every face painting book out there.
But, personally, I love all of Marcela's books. She actually is out there, doing what we do, painting at little parties. Her designs are what I can actually use, and they are pretty.

Re: Which instuctional facepaint book would you recommend?
The Wolfe's Extreme FP book is pretty good for a beginner as it covers almost everything.
I am partial, but I think Your Face or Mine is pretty decent too for beginners (Metina sells it in the forum shop)
Mark Reid's books are all very good, and the Illusion published books show a variety of artists and designs.
There are several "old" books some are pretty good - Making Faces by Sian Ellis-Thomas and the Grimas book put out by Grimas has some great stuff too.
I've got pretty much everything...

Re: Which instuctional facepaint book would you recommend?
I just got my Extreme Face painting book in the mail yesterday, so today I painted this Xenomorph that is from the design in this book. My colors are a bit dark but it was my first go round. I like the step by steps and they make it seem easy. Like Shannon said, it is a great beginner book, lots of technique tips that were really great. I am going to look into some of their others and some Mark Reid next.

Re: Which instuctional facepaint book would you recommend?
This newer Wolfe Bros book http://tinyurl.com/ExtremeFaces is still my favorite.
Clear and easy to follow step by steps, great photos and excellent general technique information.
Jody, your Xenomorph looks great!
There are others who have done designs from this book in the older thread here: http://www.facepaintforum.com/t3146p30-new-wolfe-book-extreme-face-painting and the results are fantastic
I hope they come out with more books like this!

Re: Which instuctional facepaint book would you recommend?
This my attempt at the Xenomorph..Mines a bit on the light side I think..It's the first time hubby has shaved for a while so I thought I'd catch my moment.
Re: Which instuctional facepaint book would you recommend?
Good job Freedspirit! Isn't that a fun design? Your colors look like what they used in the book. I used the wrong purple and it turned out darker than it should have and then my eyes got crazy so I just darkened it in. So I ended up looking very MEAN!
Nice of your hubby to be the guinea pig!
