Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
I want a wrap, but am not sure it's worth it when the vehicle I drive is a 2001 & Chrysler... It's not running as well as I'd like I really want to replace it. But, maybe a back window....
Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
I wanted a wrap for years but at the time I decided I wanted one I had a silver RAV4 and didn't think it would look great on silver.
I had initially thought to get a black one when I traded in (I trade in every 5 years... I like "new"!) but, black shows the road dirt a little to fast.
So we decided to get a it in arctic white instead and I love the look, the black background on the wrap makes the edges of the backend sort of vanish... I've had people say it is sort of like a Tardis (if you don't know what that is, nevermind... )
I'm due to trade in next spring (or this fall... depends on the sales/promos that Toyota is running!) but may hang on to this one another year or so... will depend, I like to trade before the extended warranty expires.
This is my third RAV4 (fifth Toyota... all I've ever owned). I'm really keen on the new electric one but it is still is testing but they say it will be out for 2012!!

Angie I like that and that is just enough for me. My 330 is paid for Thank you Lord...lolol and I am not getting rid of it....still alot of good years left on it. I am getting another one the next size up from the RX series(GX??) prayerfully this year. So I am only looking to do the back window of the existing or new or maybe both.
Angie did you give them (manufacturer) your window dimensions? Or did you just guestimate how big you would need it to be?

I love that Angie! I would love to have something like that.
Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
I guestimated on the dimentions. I got it wrong too... I'd have put the faces closer together had I realized that I'd need to trim so much off the edges. But ah well. Really not bad for the price. I'll have to show you sometime when it's actually clean. It gets a lot of notice, and it's fun parking in front of the party house so that the guests who come in can see that there's a face painter.
Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
Keeping in mind I am an Avid do it your selfer... I Ordered the wrap and perforated Window viny from an online printing company for my other business. It was the back and sides of a Toyota Matrix.
Cost me about $600 for the printing, and I applied it myself using the wet method. Was Super easy to do, lasted the entire 3 years until I traded the car in and peeled it off- was easy to remove.
THE BEST advertising dollar you can spend. All the benefits of a billboard, but it moves around to different audiences.
The CONS- It makes your vehicle an attractive target for some types. Some home owner's associations will insist you garage the vehicle. Perforated Window Vinyl can be hard to see out of in the rain, unless you also have it laminated. In the Florida rains, my rear window might as well have been opaque.

It looks great, I just have a small one on 1 backside window.
I ordered it with my businesscards, but it was a farce.... Because you can see through it, it's not quite visible.
You inspired me to go and look for other options they have in my country.

To the DIY-ers, do you remember which sites you got yours from? I'd really like to look into DIY options (she says as her husband gives her a stern sideways glance. lol Shhhhhhhhhh. ;-) )

I just went for lettering on the windows, the wrap is on the car... then I can see out of all my windows. It is a bit disconcerting looking in the rearview mirror to read www.shannonfennell.com right way round though!!

If any of you would like to order decals and apply them yourself you can PM me and I would be happy to provide you with my web address. With patience and a few handy tools, it really isn't hard to apply them yourself.
Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
FYI... I just took my Rav4 to a company that does wraps to get a price on JUST putting art on the back wheel cover, like Shannons. They said it would be $50 to print and $55 to instal. Personally, I think the installation charge is a bit of a joke... BUT, at the same time $105 doesn't strike me as being too expensive either. It's a large surface that will make a great advertisement, so I feel like it would be worth it... plus it would only take getting 1 gig from it to cover the cost. I'll call around to a few other places just to compare prices, but I think I'll be getting this done in the next week or two.... just in time for it to stop raining every day!
Re: I am SO saving for a car wrap. How much will I need, do you think?
That's a good price I think. I won't recommend the place where I bought mine since they messed up the first time and then ungraciously sent a replacement and charged me shipping on it. However, you can get perforated window vinyl at www.just4banners.com for a very reasonable price. You choose the size but it probably comes out to about $40 for the vinyl and $9 shipping. I've never used their window wraps but I have banners and they are good for the price.
