Hey guys, tonight I was at Micheal's scavenging for Clearance yarn sales.. and found the tulip stuff... They have face paint and glitter tat kits.
Pics and review of the Tulip paint 21625110

I'm a bit freaked out.. It's well package, but expensive($7 a color for 18 grams of paint.)
Pics and review of the Tulip paint 21804910

I bought the black to try it out.

It goes on JUST LIKE Wolfe or Tag or DFX.. I used a sponge and a brush.
Pics and review of the Tulip paint 20660210

I tried washing it off, it came right off with a little soap and water...

Pics and review of the Tulip paint 20826110

I didn't get any other colors.. but it seems fine to me. Not sure what this means, probably just more people starting to face paint, I would expect an influx of new peeps on this forum in the next 6 months or so. That's just the way it is.. just like when people started doing a lot of youtube vids.. a big influx then too.

latas.

hmmm... I know that somebody else tried it and they found that the black and white were the only ones who washed off easily.
If anything, it will be a relief to know that I can always find replacement white and black at Michaels if I run out. I will definitely be using a coupon though.

Remember, anyone can buy face paint. But, without the talent and training,...you have just paint.

it's there at the Windsor Michael's but I can't see any more people buying that than the Snazaroo that they already carry there... maybe the glitter tats because it has stencils.

I have been to my michael's three times in the past week, and it doesn't look like very much of it sold at all. Maybe a couple items.

Whats so scary is that maybe uninformed parents will think all face paints are hard to wash off. You know many will have a new appreciation for us when they see the price of what they think we buy. The tat glitter is so grainey and that scares me the most.

I didn't try the paint but did pick up a small kit of glitter tattoos. Using the little brush was messy for me, I think a poofer would make it easier. I think I'm a little to clumsy to be a glitter tattoo artist. rabbit

Hahaha Ashley, we have the same amount and set up here, wanted to get the glitter but they looked very coarse and the stencils looked like duck tape.

Metina, I picked up the silver as well and I had a 40% coupon but decided to use it on a $12 dome round brush instead Smile Next time I think I'll pick one up with a coupon of course Smile

I thought I read somewhere jest paints come from china and that they are made by the makers of wolfe.

Just spoke with my local Michaels and they are treating it as a seasonal item. If it does not sell, it will not be brought back. Mine won't even carry the professional size pots until the variety kits sell. The variety pack has less paint than the Snaz one that they carry and is $20. Defiantly not a cheaper option.

We have Michaels and A.C. Moore and they both carry them. I did get the neon paint kit to see how they compared to my other neon paints, and the neon glitter kit because with all the colors of glitter I do have...I don't have neon. Both glow in black light really brightly.

It is nice to know that if i ever got caught short on black or white and needed some right away, I could buy it locally, but other than that don't see me buying any of the other colors.

Oh geez I meant to write my comment in this tread but I put it in another. Anyway, the bright pink, blue and purple do stain... but the metalics are actually nice.

hmmm As much as I hate to admit it.... I pay more then $7 for that size.... in any brand.
Tag starts at $8.95.... DFX is about $9.50 ... and if I want a pot of paradise I'm looking at $19- $28.... plus postage.
I'm starting to realise it costs a lot more to be a face and body artist in Australia then other countries.

I think you're confusing the amount of paint. They are the same diameter as the TAG 32 gram pots, but they are very shallow (only 18 grams.) ...so 18 grams of TAG is only costing you $5.03 AUD.

Hey guys. I was in Windsor Ontario Canada last week and checked out the Michaels there. Wow! Talk about expensive!! The prices were way more than the US stores, plus tax and the currency exchange would have made them almost double. I didn't bring my kit and I had a lesson/jam with a friend so I thought to try it out. I bought the glitters and found they are too opaque for face painting but great for tattoos. I agree with Linda and Ashley, any hobbist will be sorely out of pocket if they exclusively use these while charging low rates.

Maggie - yes I did get the silver in the little kit. I have nothing else but Snazaroo silver to compare it to (and that just looks grey to me). The SILVER looks VERY GOOD in my opinion. You know its silver when you look at it although I took some pics and it didn't translate well (maybe my lighting). It sparkles a lot.

This is going to sound really stupid here but... the SILVER, it sort of feels like a thin latex on the skin (or liquid skin) to the touch. I don't think it contains latex though but not really sure. It's not uncomfortable... it's really smooth. The gold was just as good - very sparkly. The blue was awesome! BUT it stained my arm. Sad Anyway, as I said above I have nothing else to compare it to but the snaz. Hope that helps.
