Tulip Paint Empty Tulip Paint

Post by Sandie Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:20 pm

I was in A.C. Moore today and saw face/body paint made by Tulip. I think is was $6 for what looked like a 30-45 gm. (i didn't look that closely) Has any one used this? I have a hard time believing anything resembling decent face paint would be found at a craft store. I am not spending $ unless sure it would be ok. I have only used Wolfe, DFX and TAG. They also had markers labeled for face and body. Significant Other was with and was ready to go, so didn't investigate further. scratch

I bought one of the neon yellow tulip paints, it's SUPER DUPER neon. It looks like the same size container as a 30g wolf paint, but it's MUCH thinner....I think it's more like 18 grams total. I got it for $6.99 and used a 50% off coupon, so since it was barely over $3 I got it. Seems to go on well and operate pretty much like my wolfe, it's that same texture.

Tulip Paint Empty Re: Tulip Paint

Post by PaolaSunglow Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:56 pm

Ohhh yes i have!!! i don't like it.
i find it dries too much. i used it for a birthday party for a friend once and the girls lasted 15 minutes then they all run to get their face washed off. I wondered why? i tried on my face the next day and found it pulled too much. That paint actually put off my daughter from face painting, as i had painted her whole face with it, she just let me take few pictures and run to take it off, said it bothered her too much. I did not pay too much attention then thinking she was just too tired of me.
Normally you get a little pull but this is annoying. also the Green stains too much. I did like the white and black to practice on my arm though! it was less gummy then Wolfe and you can get nice lines the problem is it cracks once it dries so i would never use it on a face again.
i gave it all away to a friend for practicing.
Hope this helps. Maybe somebody else had a different experience?

This was the last willing face paint my daughter let me practice on her. More then a year ago. Sad

Maybe other colors is different? I really would not say they have the same texture as Wolfe. Wolfe is definitely more gummy and you can only use very little water on them or they became ugly! in this you can use a lot of water. i used to make a paddle in the middle.

This is like what I got...and it IS 18grams. I only painted on my arm with the neon yellow, and it seemed to behave like my wolf black and white...it's SO BRIGHT I have never actually had anyone WANT it on their face, so I will probably never use it!

I also loved the yellow, and i am not sure how it behaves as i only used the basic color, Black, White, Red, Blue, Green and also Lilac. Maybe Yellow is different? i don't know.
I know right?? hi hi hi... it does look gross. i used to use it to practice. and save my other paint. When i started using DFX i realized that was pointless as i need it to know how much water to use and how it will move on the skin. hi hi hi
i did buy their glitter for tattoos, of which i only like the one with sparkles the others do not really show on the paint.
O yes i also bought some small gems to apply, but at that time i had no idea i had to wait for the glue to dry a bit. Those where really cute and fun. sunny

I'm glad they don't sell "good stuff" at the craft stores.....then when people see us at fairs/festivals/parties/etc, they'll notice we don't use the "craft store paints" lol

Tulip silver is a nice color, better than some of the big name paints.
