Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
Ok sooooooo I have to admit I broke my no buying rule...but only a little bit..lolol
I had a 50% off coupon at ac moore and I got the tulip neon glitter tat kit.
15 stencils
6 neon colors
2 brushes
1 bottle of adhesive
I don't have a black light but my daughter reminded me that one of her Crayola glow wonder toys hand a black light wand. Oh my gosh I love the glow in the dark effect. The colors are nice under regular light/sun light too........sooooo nowwww
I want to try the neon paint kit... I have another 40% off coupon If these colors do glow in the dark...don't stain.....and look nice in regular light I may switch to these.
we'll see how it works out.

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I just drove 20 miles to my local Michels...NO TULIP Body art stuff and the manager had never heard of it
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
The nearest Michaels is about 40 minutes away... but I need to drive out that way for a Doctor's appointment next week so I plan on checking it out. I did look the new products up online and found the official website. Enjoy - Deanna

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
went to michaels today...the 18m paint were 6.99 which i think would be the same size as the dfx 32 gm...the glitter was 2 colors for 4.99.
the stencils for 25 was 7.99..
the glitter seamed to be a good price, but there was no green colors..the other colors were nice...

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
Intriguing...I'm good on fp, but I might swing by Michael's before the gym next week and see if they have a glitter tat kit there. Will let you know!
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I bought the glitter tattoo stuff and so far it worked great, but the question is how long will it last!!!! Just used my 8 year old and will let you know how long it stayed on
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
OK so I just used the neon kit......the colors do really glow in the dark(blacklight of course) ( I love this Glow wand from crayola...lol she may not get this back) However using a brush the colors are weak and transparent looking in indoor light. Need to see how a sponge will work and if I can get the colors to appear stronger in daylight.
Somehow Tulip must have managed to do what these other companies can't or won't. It is plastered all over the box that they are non toxic, hypoallergenic, non staining face paint. The little instruction booklet shows different face designs and tells you which colors to use. No warning lables anywhere and nothing that says do not use this on the face.
This just might be a win win........although I have no plans on giving up my neon rainbows but it's nice to know this could be an alternative, especially on the littler people.

or maybe they just don't know that you can't use them on the face... the more I looked at those little cups of paint they really looked like the paint from kustom body art... maybe they just bought that paint and slapped their sticker on there being none the wiser about anything...

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
Tamara, if they didn't pay to have the FDA/Cosmetic testing done on them, they can say what they want until the lawsuits come in. Obviously the "non-staining" is a lie, as was proven by Suzy. It's definitely a case of buyer beware.
I've used Tulip puff, fabric, acrylic and fabric-spray paints and have had an issue with all of them not lasting. How interesting that their "non-staining" product is the one that does, but the ones I want to stain don't? Oi. Suzy, did you write to the company and send them photos?
Shandi, they don't have them here either. I wish they had the glitter tat stuff. It would make my life SO MUCH easier. However, they do carry Snazaroo kits in our Micheal's. I don't use their paints and have a local Paradise supplier, but I did find it interesting to see that when I was in their other day.

Other face paints stain me too...
SuzySparkles wrote:god this crap stains fast... wiped this off the moment after I took the picture... I would say within 3 minutes after putting it on and it stained. My face looks ridiculous!! I am going to return these to Michaels with the stain on my face and all...
I like the black though!!
My skin is so dry that nearly all of my face paints stain (especially my wonderful Paradise paints). I have a hard time washing all my face paints off of my grandkids when I paint them too. Takes a LOT of soap and water. The only paints I've tried that stain very little are my new Tag paints (that a friend in Australia sent me to try).

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I just went to our Micheal's to double check. They said they are having a hard time moving the Snaz stuff so they have no intention of carrying the Tulip stuff...which I don't care about paint wise but having a local glitter tat distributor would be soooo much easier.
*sigh*
I'm officially envious.

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I went to michaels yesterday, and just purchased the white (with a coupon of course), and it's ok. I like that it doesn't take much water to get a consistency, and it lays down ok (for lines), but it cracked pretty bad after wearing it for a while. It almost looked acrylicish when I did a heavy line, or went over a line twice. I don't feel like I wasted any money, it can def be used for a backup, plus I rubbed the crap out of it when It was dry, and no smearing or smudging. I would give it a 6 out of 10
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
They are at Michaels here, I think I might try the silver, I don't have any, of course I am going to use a coupon.
Thanks for the review eva

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
No problem Maggie. I tried the black today, and I really like it for linework. It goes on smooth, each brush load goes pretty far, and stays really dark and vibrant where as my snaz faded after a few hours. Now I am concerned though, because the website has nothing on face paint at all!! And the package says conforms to non-toxic, nothing about FDA, bummer since i like the black so much.
This is an example Snaz left and Tulip right

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
Brian David posted on a facebook group that the tulip paints are in fact, Wolfe and it surprised me that the black doesn't stain. I saw the glitters yesterday and found them to be abit grainy instead of silky feeling like my professional cosmetic grade glitters. This morning, I wrote to Tulip about my concerns and will share their answer when I get it.
Suzy, special thanks for showing your samples on the skin & so sorry to hear they really stained you.
Cheers,
Susan

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
didn't even see this post for some reason.. anywho, I tried the black and liked it just fine. I'll go there to get some if I'm in a pinch, but it's too expensive to use regularly. I can't believe those other colors stained you so badly! geezz..
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I haven't been on the forum in forever... just got a "real job." ugh... but working more and more and loving it. I saw the Tulip paints @ Mike's and knew ya'll would have the answers! Thanks so much to Suzy and everyone's reviews for saving my money on the regular colors. Out of Wolfe black and have a gig... headed that way soon with a coupon in hand.
Thanks to all!
Thanks to all!

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
Ok, so bear with me on this post...It may be confusing.
I believe someone on here emailed tulip about the MSDS..Metina??
I went to the website today and was checking out under the face paints. In the comment section, there was a post addressing that they had emailed and received the wrong response but still no answer in regards the FDA approving the neons?
Anywho...they responded on the site saying
Tulip Body Art Paints are FDA Approved!
Not sure where this is coming from, because the Tulip Body Art Face and Body Paints are FDA tested and approved to be safe! And you can call our Customer Care team at 1.800.438.6226 and get the MSDS sheets you require.
So anyhow, I am going to call this number tomorrow and see if I can get that.
I also left a comment saying it is comming from the package saying non toxic, not FDA tested and/or approved, and it shouldn't advertise as non staining.
I know it seems silly and dragged out for a product most won't use. But I would like to use the black and white sometimes, and it would set my mind at ease if their comment were true.

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I brought the glitter tats on Sat. and tried them. I did a free hand design of a dolphin and it is still holding up well. The glue smells like Elmer glue that you use in craft products to me. I will say they don't come off easily, I had one on my arm and rubbed it red before it came off.
I think they will be great to learn how to do them and see if they go over good selling wise.
What do you charge for a glitter tat?

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I am thinking about trying the glitter tats. Thanks for the reviews. What do you all charge for tats? Has anyone tried the black tattoo spray yet?
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I bought a pack of glitter tattoos from Michaels that included some paints, I tried out the blue on my daughter and liked how it flowed but after washing it of a few mins later it had already stained her skin and it stayed there for days. The tattoos were fine look and looked nice - they are my only experience with glitter tattoos so I can't compare them.

Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I don't have much experience with glitter tattoos either, but it seemed like after a day these tattoos were starting to rub off. I thought they were supposed to last longer. Other than that, they seemed fine.
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
My glitter tats last for a minimum of 5 day........usually longer I have one on my upper arm that is just really starting to wear off and I have had it on for 11 days now. It really depends on the adhesive. I don't like the glitters that come with the kits from Michaels or A.C. Moore but I will say I love love love that adhesive. It holds longer than the adhesive from glimmer. I have always done very well with glitter tats since adding them to my list of service offerings. Very popular among the tweens and teens, and now that I have the mica for more of a matte look the boys really like that look of a real tattoo.
Re: Glitter tatoo!!!
I wonder what I have done wrong, then, with this glitter tattoo kit I got at Michaels. It does start rubbing off by the next day. Is it the actual glitter, then, and not the glue?
