Just my luck! :(

I cant find pregnant ladies to practice on!!! Geez!...Ive been offering to do Free belly painting...no replies...finally i found two (one like 2wks ago..and one last wk) who i actually email and all and they thought it was going to be so cool blah blah...oh well i even had to rush and change my schedule because they both told me the baby could come ANY time!...and the baby (twice!!) decided to come the time right before the session we had schedule! *tearsss!!* lol ...First mom didnt even get to schedule a date because her baby knocked the door while we were barely discussing it all....second mom..i just found out she cancelled.. she wrote on my status (which was me talking about my events and her belly painting) that she was in the hospital already and that she was 6cm dilated!!!!!.....I wish the best of luck to both new mommies...BUT im still a little disappointed/amused i guess of how close i was this time and Nothing!!! LOL...i have to add...i dont even wake up this early for class! (7:55am) and i did because i wanted to be ready with the design and all for the belly today! :'( ....oh wellllll!!!! Next Time! LOL

Abril, If we lived closer you could paint my belly, I'm not pregnant - I just look that way!

Ahhhh hahahahahah! OMGosh Lauri! btw my husband heard me laughing and he came over to ask me what was I laughing at. I could not tell him because I couldn't stop laughing.

You are exited you can do it and then... it slips away...
But don't worry, it's womans' instinct to be pregnant and it is mens' to take care of this...

Just let everybody know you need a model and eventually bellys will show up.

Lauri I think we should have a talk.... it's depressing how you talk over yourselves lol... you haven't seen my belly yet! (and I will not show!)

Belly painting is a difficult business as you're painting on a ticking time bomb.

I try to schedule a little earlier in the 3rd trimester. You'll still have a nice round bump to work with, but a lot of the water retention/bloating that can occur at the very end hasn't happened. It's much more flattering for mom that way.

You could try a free Craigslist ad. Maybe the 1st 4 free? Just pick a safe initial meeting place.

@ Lauri!: LOL!!!!! My moms belly is funny..because she does look like shes prego!...if you see her from behind shes just you know..not fat or anything..BUT if you see her profile is like wow! how far along are you?? LOL we always make fun of her hehe...i always ask her if she would let me paint her belly..and to let me know..so i can order tons of paint because i dont want to run out hahaha! i knoooow! kind of mean but hey! thats how we are! we are just a fun mean family! hehehe

@ Ktty and Linda : youre right! some bellies will come up soon! haha for now...i just got my fake belly in the mail so itll help to practice and take some pictures..maybe moms will be more excited that way!...and yes! def. theyre ticking bombs!!! ...The mom who just had the baby was sooooo disappinted! lol she told me she was so excited and wish she could have gotten her belly painted..but oh well! maybe next time is she decides to have another baby haha. Oh yeah! and i did the craiglist add..and facebook too! and Nothing! ...The adds there so hopefully someone will msg me soon! lol

Have you tried contacting the Mommy and Me groups in your area? Young Moms tend to have MORE on the way.

Also, contact all the OBGYN in your area. I bet that will be a hard set of calls, but something might click

Also, is there a baby clothes store in your area? Or, a place that specialities is maternity clothes? Offer to sit there on a Saturday and bring in customers with your skills

We had SEVEN prego Moms who we dragged from our jam restaurant into the jam. They ended up coming EVERY jam, a few keep coming now with the infants (and their older kids).

Lilly...not yet..but im working on it! Ive been so busy with school/work/and taking care of my nephew but im slowy working on it! Yes!! young moms are more..open minded? i dont know..i feel like women here are so conservative that get "grossed out" by the idea of getting their belly painted!...my friend told me his group of friends were just talking about this..and this lady who barely found out shes prego was like ewww i dont know why people do that! i rather just go take some pictures...i told my friend is way better have your belly painted!!! That way the pictures look great! and you show a wonderful Stretch marks free bump!! I dont know..thats just me lol


and Amber...id like to know what SOOOOOO funny!!! LOL!!!!! The truth is YES! It is! when i first read the ladies comment on facebook saying she was at the hospital i was like WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Nooooo Wayyyyyy!! I always laugh it up! AND even more! when im SO NOT a morning person!!! (Only when it comes to something VERY important!) And this time #1 i couldnt sleep because i was so excited! #2 was a little stressed out because since was very last minute i wasnt ready with a design or anything! and #3 i had another event to go to after that and i was afraid i was going to be running late to everything! I woke up Soooo early that day! I was like really?? woke up THIS early?? and no more belly?? grrrr! ...when i told my fam...i wasnt surprise they were just LOL

A fake belly ?? Do they have that in Texas?? Send me a thin fake one with musles please... haha!
