Tomorrow night I have my Roller Derby level 1 skills test... T-stops, falls, rules, its going to hurt. Please wish me luck 'cos I'm so jittery and I want to pass so badly. This has been the hardest 7 weeks, we have crash coursed the basics and our test is quite hard, we have to do 25 laps of the derby course in 5 mins, jumps, falls, jam and block, argh, I have also had to read the huge rule book and learn as much as we can. I think I'll be ok, I hope I'll be ok.

A roller derby, suppose this is with rollerblades? We call them rolschaatsen. (rolling scates) As a child I rolled a lot it was fun but not that challenging as you have to do!

Its done on quad skates with wrist, elbow and knee pads, helmet and a mouth guard. It's very grass roots and most teams are all female, freshies train for a full year before there ready for a team and have to take four skills tests to prove that they are good to skate.

I just did level one and I hope I passed, I think I got 5 out of the 7 skills we did.
