Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Well that is good to know because I am really only interested in the face paint stuff too. I know this year we are already booked ourselves but, I think the price is fabulous and it isn't that far from me really. Besides that, I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Louisiana.
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Yeah, Dawn, totally bumming me out we won't be going together Sat too! Gotta gig, gonna make some money, gonna go to work bla bla bla! LOL! Just pickin with ya!
I'll be there Fri all day with Pasher's class. But on Sat., I'm just gonna be there for a few hours for the reg classes. Not gonna take Mark's class or do the body painting, not my thing either. Love the idea of us doing a little something!
I'm liking the Bingo cards too, lol!

Hey Rebecca! Can't wait to take your class so you can show me what I'm doing wrong with those cakes. I can't seem to get the right amount of water on my brush, too much, too little... But I LOVE my cakes!
Is there any word on the forum painters getting together? Don't wanna miss that!

Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Hope you have fun, I wish I could go! Just got back from NABPC, too many trips I want to take!
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Let's keep an eye on this thread during the Fete in case anyone wants to propose a jam session. I hesitate to try and schedule one before we actually get there since I'm not sure what will be going on where, and when the "free times" will be. I definitely want to meet up with everyone though! Might be my last chance, since this is getting more and more expensive the more I think about it, lol. No telling how much it will cost me in the end, especially after a couple trips to the vendor's room...
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
lol - cool thread - angie - there is no such thing as "free time" at La Fete unfortunately, everything is scheduled pretty tight to keep everyone entertained and engaged.... but if you find some, let me know! I would love to jam with you guys!
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
For those of you not interested in the body painting Saturday afternoon there is a two hour+ window open from four pm until.... Bethanie has gumbo for us around 6. We could jam then.
oh, and who is going parading and party at Bethanie's house?

We'll be heading home right after Nora's class on Saturday,
but I'll probably be free on Friday during the zombie crawl.

Aw Ashley! We'll miss meeting with you! I know all about the money being tight though. Congrats on your new house!
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Sry to hear you cant make it Ashley, but we all understand about the bills. A new house costs way more than the price tag. I hope all goes well for you. Maybe next year.

Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Just FYI, I am bringing a bag full of junk - er - valuable face painting products that I no longer use to trade with whoever. Several cakes I've cut in half to put part in my palette, and lots of glitter gel and Snaz theme packs.
Anyone else who has stuff they want to get rid of, bring it on!

Bummer Ashley!! We'll miss you!! A house is a pricey thing, but fun to decorate, lol! Happy house warming!
I'm good for Sat, but I know Dawn(squiggles) won't be there and now Angie. Friday might be more of an option. I'm open for it. Not being or going zombie-fried, lol!
Angie-I'll have to check out your stash. I like splits, so those half cakes might be useful. Don't have much to trade tho. Do you speek Green? Lol!

Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
If you think any of it is worth actual money, lol. I'm hoping someone can use some of this!
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
That's a good idea to bring your odds and ends-- Glad you mentioned it. BTW, only 36 more hours to go!
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
I just got back from Tabitha Miller's house helping her to make lunch for Friday. MMmmmm MMmmmm Its an unusual taste of cajun food: Jambalaya Sandwiches. Spent the morning cutting up veggies, pork, bacon, and sausage. This looks like it is gonna be Goooood.

We're here! Having a FAB time! If I haven't met some of you yet, be sure to snag me. I'm the one in GREEN.
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
I'm not going this year, but hope to go next year. I had an idea... how about painting FPF somewhere on your body where others could see it & recognize you as a member?
Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Wow, Lafete was tons of fun. I had to leave a day early, but enjoyed every minute of what I got.
You haven't seen "interesting" until you see 40+ made up zombies shuffling through the french quarter of New Orleans (hint: they were all dead face painters). Pashur, Wiser, and Mark Reid were all great. I also enjoyed Terra Fender's session today on doing festivals; learned a lot on that one. It was wonderful to learn in such an up close and personal setting.
All I can say about the painting is that Vi and Angie made me sick with how good they were.
Oh, did I mention the food was the BOMB. Supper at Bethany's house followed by the St Patrick's Day parade almost on her door step. Tabitha's "jambalaya sandwiches" were unbelieveable.Hats off to Big Mike for some of the best BBQ in the world for lunch today.
It was great to meet you all there. I am sure some great pics will follow in the next couple days.

Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
Ah, Linda that would have been a great idea! Ah well, maybe next year.
Thanks Ray - it was awesome meeting you and all the other amazing FPF peeps this week! I'm home now too, still riding on borrowed energy and excitement over all the things I've learned. Vi was definitely amazing, and I was so blessed with how friendly and "family-like" everyone was. You guys are so awesome! Ray, if I had to pick the three most useful things I learned at LaFete 2011, it would be Pashur's dragon, Rebecca's rose, and YOUR SHARK! I feel like I can finally paint a proper shark nose without it looking like a dolphin or a balloon head. I practiced it several times already and with that angle tip I hit it every time.

Re: I'm going to LaFete and I look like this...
I had lots of fun the one day I was able to go. Loved getting to finally meet some of my facepaintforum friends! Wish we had had more time to talk I'm hoping to get to stay at the hotel next year at least for a couple of days. I'm already blocking off the days so I don't accidentally book up my weekend like I did this year.
Gina, sorry, but I've never been to FABAIC. LaFete is the only convention I've ever been to. It's like hanging out with family... I love it!
