made a brush holder
I made a brush holder with a towel. I'm so happy with it! Picked the idea somewhere from the internet. Folded a black towel, stitched straight lines and some ribbons and that's it. It looks greyish on the photo because of the flash, but it's black. When I have painted somewhere I put my brushes in it, doesn't mind if they are still a bit wet. At home I clean the brushes and throw the towel in the washing machine.

Re: made a brush holder
That's a really good idea--I've been thinking I want a brush holder, but I don't want to pay loads =D
Re: made a brush holder
What a great idea and execution! You are one smart cookie btw I love the added touch you gave it with the ribbons and charms.
Re: made a brush holder
Great job Nancy! I made one very, very similar out of upholstery fabric for all my knitting needles, it is great!!

Re: made a brush holder
Wow now this is genius!!! I wish I hadn't gone out and bought one two weeks ago. Thank goodness it was only like 7 bucks. I like this idea better. It seems more compact. AnD I love the idea that it can be washed. Hope you don't mind if I make one for myself.

Re: made a brush holder
I made a similar thing and didn't even think about posting it up here, being a 'newy' and all!
I love the idea of making it out of a towel so that you can just throw it in the wash.
I made mine out of a "wipe-able" plastic/material...I haven't put my dirty brushes in it though . . . now that I think about it I could of course! I could also put an extra piece of material or towel in between the dirty brushes and the holder to avoid the fabric from staining. I will try that this weekend.
I would post a picture of mine but have no idea how to do that!
