TAG, YOU"RE IT FOR 5! A fun way to get ideas for new designs....

By the way, I had about 12-15 little victums, oops, I mean customers, in the restaurant tonight, but I was so busy working my asp off . And finally, when it slowed down, I threw it out there to the mom via foodserver, face paint for your 5 year old???? Yes, yes, yes, so my little victum says yes!! and I WANT TO PRACTICE the dragon mask fom sonya. I say "Do you like Dragons, what about a Dragon Mask?" No answer..."Do you like spiders...Do you like (insert) do you like ( insert) again and again, and finally the cute victum states "I really like Dragons!" Yeeeeaaaah! ... here is the 9pm, restaurant 5 year old, parents so happy, totally distracted, still took me more than five minutes to do one half of what sonya posted!!!! Yes That's fire off his mouth, not too bad...

And about the teardrops (lol), I found that it's a combination of finding the right paint, the right brush, and lots of practice....but you'll get it. I got frustrated at first too, but then I started trying different brushes and found that certain ones just work better for teardrops and swirls (for me). I'm still not great at it, or anything, but I found my work looks tons better when my drops and swirls started coming together.

Guess I'm practicing all day!

That's adorable! I also use a combination of brushes for my swirls and teardrops. My fave is a #5 brush - but try different types of bristles, too, as that makes a difference also. I think the one I like to use is white synthetic. Sable brushes and I do not get along very well =).

I supposed step by step is up to the person. I was sure glad to have just three pictures with the dragon face and when I try the princesses tomorrow, it'll be easier. What does everyone think?

I think the step by step will help others learn how to do it / how it was done in 5 minutes or less. Let's say if a step by step is included "BONUS!!!"
If not then we'll just figure it out for ourselves and put our own twist on things ... which is good also. So like Lauri just said "I supposed step by step is up the the person."

Sorry for the delay, school holidays here & lifes been hectic. If you don't mind I shall do this tomorrow after I've taken the kids to their swimming lessons.

I had to read the second description - going what the heck is that? A spork...OH cricket! My Americanness is showing as I don't think I've ever seen a cricket match. Just read about it in books...Mandi these are great! I have been wondering about brush sizes on using the splits like the fire. I have a 3/4 that I find two big - so was thinking maybe there is such a thing as a 1/2 - you got a great effect though using the #12 which I have several of. Guess I'm off to practice more with those...

I just had a lightbulb moment... I have several "mops" or pouncer sponges and I use them with my rainbow cakes to make butterfly masks. NEVER even considered using them for BALLS!!!!! DOI! Thanks, Mandi!!

Pshhhhh... the story of my life!!! LOL

Actually, my avatar is one of the butterfly masks I do with the mop/pouncer (or used to until they all started to fall apart... now it's just easier to do the sponge). It always seemed like it was easier around the eye. I just lay it down and drag it up, and the same on the bottom dragging it down. The mop always loaded easier and distributed the paint better, but when little bits of it kept coming off, I stopped using them.
