Okay, I've been trying to paint a Pumpkin mask for a Harvest festival at a church and this is what I came up with. Please critique and let me know what I need to add or delete. Thanks.

I would say some vines and leaves would add something extra and a little bit of white high lite for "pop" Smile

I was thinking about adding leaves but I ran out of face...LOL...Maybe I need to make it smaller?
I think I may add the white highlights. Thanks.

It's a little difficult to see in the photo due to it's small size, but I think I would leave off the green parts at the bottom, and make it a clean outline right across the bridge of the nose rather than painting the tip of the nose or underneath. It looks like you might want to sponge the orange a little closer to the eyes as well? Otherwise it looks good. Here's my version from a few years ago. I tried to keep the vertical lines at the top and bottom only, and leave the middle clear. Hope this helps!

Agreed...

Some white highlights might be nice, and adding leaves would fit on the forehead portion. Looks good, though.

What they all said. Extending the lines down the face is difficult as the face bends. Just doing the lines on the top & bottom give the illusion of the ridges.
Great 1st try!

Not necessarily a critique, but a suggestion... using a 1inch double loaded brush with orange and yellow going vertical give pumpkins a little bit more dimension without adding any more time onto doing the design. It's a really quick way to do the base coat that I think makes a pretty big difference. I checked, but I can't find a photo of when I've done it before.

I just bought some mama clown glitter that is orange and gold. I have been using that on my pumpkins, it is subtle but adds a little zing to the designs. Very cute idea! Have you seen the snazaroo pumpkin face they have this year? It is a pretty cute idea too.

I would tend to make pumpkin/jack-o-lantern with vines and or spider web in the cheek instead of a full face. I ALSo offer a pumpkin crown, though the attac

Although, I must say that Angie's pumpkin mask is really simple and effective.

Love those designs Avi!! And no... my girlies are very much over it. Sad Most pics featuring either of them are years old now. I was just begging my older one a few minutes ago to let me do a cheetah for my "cat" themed menu, and she isn't budging. Ungrateful stinkers! LOL.
