Re: Post Away!
Okay, here goes. I apologize in advance for the bad quality. I couldn't find my camera, so I had to resort to using the webcam on my computer.
Supplies: Paradise Beach Berry, Black, and White; and DFX silver metallic. One sponge, two liner brushes, and two larger round brushes (not sure about the size. The numbers washed off a while ago).
Steps:
1) Sponge on a blend of the black and silver around the eyes.
2) As you can see, I did not want to go with a symmetrical look.
3) Paint spider webs over silver/black mixture
4) Paint lips with black/silver mixture (probably not a good idea if you have sensitive lips...mine are burning like crazy now. I forgot why I never paint my lips).
5) (accidentally marked 6 in the picture...I'm extremely tired, sorry) - paint a 3D spider crawling out of the mouth.
6) Paint a second spider hanging from web (if you want)
Final (weirdly stretched for some reason):
mmmm...yummy spider
I know I am probably going to regret posting this when I wake up in the morning, but enjoy

Re: Post Away!
Hi, for this cutsie spider design I used my Havannah Sunset TAG cake and Tag purple pearl, DFX black and white and #4 round brushes. I sponged the sunset cake over the eyes, then used a circle sponge and the Tag Pearl for the center. Make the web using the black, add tiny spiders down the side and at the top . Turn the center spot into a furry spider. Outline it with black, add eyes and then finalize by adding some little black dots and stars.

Re: Post Away!
I have never done one of these before and whilte this is using "old age" make up technique from a class I took over a decade ago I hope it works. The nose isn't right, but I didn't have time to redo it--all the painting is done when my 1 year old is sleeping (today was nap time).
PLus they look way better from far away--these pictures are a little too close!
Highlights
Low Lights
Blend Together and add details.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Post Away!
my pictures aren't very good (I really gotta learn how people take such great pictures) -- and like I said it has been over 10 years since I have done that technique--I guess a contest isn't the best place to try and redo it-and try to do it in about 1/2 hour which is my little ones nap limit!--pretty poor job I know--I am working at doing the normal face painting and those are slowly getting better.
My little one did wake up and while he didn't cry he sure looked at me funny till I took it off.

Pjhamel, your spider gives me the creeps,LOL and Amylady, that is what /i look like without make-up! LOL I love looking at the entries. This contest is going to be full of creepy goodness!
And thanks for all of the nice comments on my not so creepy spider. Now I need to think of something real ugly to enter!

Re: Post Away!
OK, that didn't work...so here are the picsn instead
step 1 was to paint entire face in nude, then using a potato sack as a stencil, cover in brown simulationg burlap
step 2 was to use a large dauber to add cheeks
step 3 was to add straw as hair
step 4 was to add patches and a nose, using stencil to add decoration to patches.
step 5 was to outline in black and highlight in white.

Re: Post Away!
Steal away! It really doesn't take long to paint. My daughter hates to be painted so I have to work fast on her....
Re: Post Away!
In my mind, there was a patch over her entire eye, but she hates when I paint her eyes, so this was the compromise.....
