Then my butterflies are brighter with neon... like this...
or reverse the colours...
You can get the DFX neon here in the forum shop .... or let us know where you are in the world and we can suggest other places to buy...
Hope that helps
Were both of these done with the same rainbow split?

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
Yes they are both the Tag neon rainbow 50g
it's just been turned around - if the kid is wearing pink I will put the oink on the outside so there is more of that color to match their outfit.
But I like the look of the orange on the eyes so I flip it to suit my mood....lol
The colors in the Tag neon rainbow go - pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange. I'll search my puter and see if I have a picture of the cake for you.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
Thanks for that answer, Tash. I wasn't really concerned about the purple irritating the kids' eyes like I've heard the red could, I've just played with the rainbow cake a little and noticed, like some others that the purple looks kind of bad on the inside, like a brusie. I guess I can experiment with how to load the sponge to get it angled like the ones in Changing Faces' pictures. I do like those, the purple is angled instead of straight like most of the rainbows I've seen.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
Alternatively you can cut the purple in half and add a sliver of pink next to it, it will stop the purple being overpowering.
Honestly all this cutting and fixing is a major pain in the backside...
maybe if everyone emailed DFX with their issues they might change it themselves.
Tag's regular rainbow - runs - red yellow green blue purple pink.
I think DFX Just got the red and pink in the wrong spots... if they knew they might just switch them.
Hmmmmmm might hit them up on FB and see what they say about it - if anything.

There is no pink in the DFX regular rainbow cake.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
I use the neon, but what you could do is place the red, yellow, orange above one eye withe the green blue purple below? Another thought would be to put white on the eye and then blend in the rainbow?
Re: rainbow butterfly problem
PS I like the rainbows as is...It looks weird to me when the colors are out of order...just a weird issue I know...
Re: rainbow butterfly problem
Yeah I to have a hard time dealing with the rainbow out of order.... thats my OCD talking ...just like I don't like wrinkles in my socks.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
I did move one color in my DFX neon rainbow cake, because honestly everytime I used it, it just appeared to be off to me and it bugged me every time I used it. I could'nt really ever put my finger on exactly what it was until someone posted a thread on here about neon cakes.
I think Tash posted a pic of her neon butterfly and then it hit me. I loved the order her colors were in. I moved the position of one color and now have a cake I can't do without.
On the flip side tho, I love my regular rainbow cake just the way it is.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
I know I didn't start this thread, but I do appreciate all the info. I think I will leave the rainbow as it is. I really don't think the butterfly looks all THAT bad with the purple on the inside and it keeps the rainbow intact. You know, I thought about getting the Paradise Prisma cake because it looks like you can load the sponge the long way instead of sideways. I think the next time I purchase, I will try it. Does anyone have a picture with white on the eye and then the rainbow? For some reason, I can't picture it.

Re: rainbow butterfly problem
I make my own rainbow cakes now and use just blue at the end avoiding the darker violet which can look ucky on some kids. Like my avatar (all Snaz)
