butterfly rainbow cake designs?

Here's one that's little by the eye:

Here's one that takes some practice but could be done with any split cake (I didn't do it, it's from TAG)

hmmm... I have that Tag split and I love it... I do butterflies on arms with it and eye designs.
I guess it depends on what you think is quick......
When I first started doing these butterflies it took me nearly ten mins...
now I do them in three mins.... so practice will make nearly any design quick.... except skulls and spidy as I have no way of speeding up the details on those.


If I"m in a big big hurry - a two min one looks more like this...

OH, Tash, I love your rainbow butterflies!! I cant believe you can get details in so quickly. I would love to try them. Do you have any utube videos out for us to follow?
I did not know TAG did split cake, only seen the solids...

I haven't done a video yet but now you brought it up.... this would make a good video because they are very common, but very quick.... so we wouldn't be giving anything away that isn't already done by a zillion face painters.
I'll ask my hubby to set something up for me to record one...

Here are two I did with split cakes. The first is the big DFX Neon rainbow cake, and the second is with a small arty cake.... not sure which one though. Both are very easy and quick, just paint on the rainbow and add linework. The arm design I had painted on me by an artist in LA a few months ago and this is my version of it. I love it because of how simple it is, and still so fun.

here's mine super quick, made with a neon rainbow cake from TAG and has a pearl purple outline instead of black.

I'm still learning how to upload photos but I'm a fan of the TAG butterfly! I have used it but had to train myself. If you can follow one stroke- over the brow is: flow up. over. over
from corner of eye is: under, under, under. flow down & reverse flow up to finish.
Repeat to other side. Very easy once you practise it - the trick is the reverse flow at the tail.

O! and don't forget to sponge base over/under the eye area, metalic white is used in the photo but you can use whatever pearl colour compliments your split cake that your using!

Tash, you need to do a video! I LOVE Beck Anthony's videos because of her gorgeous Aussie Accent...I've tried to do one when I act, but it's difficult...those ending a's are always r's....weird but lovely!!!

Its my mainstay at my regular gig - I just sponge asstd rainbows on for buttefly/ fairy designs, 3 mins max...
