My first rainbow butterfly
I did this on my daughter today after I got my first rainbow cake from diamond fx. It is based off of one of Lisa Joy Youngs youtube videos. My line work definitely needs some help. I think it may be my brushes too. Also what sponges do you guys use? I would like to find something I don't have to order.

BEautiful rainbow - so intensely vibrant!
Gonna have to put that DFX cake on my wishlist
I use sponges I cut in half that I've ordered from here (The Face Paint Forum Shop - just click on the link - lots of really cool stuff! and another place.)
I know some have said they've used tack sponges and car wash sponges and just cut them into shapes too!

Re: My first rainbow butterfly
I have some tack sponges from the local Tractor Supply Store. Cut round sponge in half = two face painting sponges. Also have some small rectangular sponges I cut from a peanut shaped car wash sponge. Advice try it on your wrist. Too scratchy and I wouldn't use it on a little ones face. Too soft and its hard to get nice clean lines with it. Just right buy it, cut it, try it, you just might love it!

Re: My first rainbow butterfly
That's great, I love the rainbow cake, is that DFX Neon? I was going to order it but it was out of stock so I got the tropical instead...
I like the cheaper high density sponges from Dauphines of Bristol best, but I also have some bath sponges from the supermarkets that I cut up and they work great too. The only problem I have with those is that it's difficult to cut them into the shape I like...
