Jeepers... I wasn't trying to educate you... you were giving advise to Perry Noia about their banner, so I also added to what you were saying for their benefit (or anyone else that doesn't understand resolution or the importance of printing at 300 DPI).

Then why not say
"In other programs 300px is also displayed as 300 DPI"

Rather instead you quoted me, the directed your comment towards me

Seems to me that you didn't know that PX and DPI were the same exact thing and you are caught feeling a little silly and then react poorly to some one correcting you. Chill. No one is born knowing everything.

I didn't realize I was going to get this kind of attitude from a simple post on these forums either. But since you are making assumptions that I'm feeling silly - DPI is technically a more precise wording then simply using px. The reason for this is because you could technically have a resolution of 300 px per cm which is very much different than 300 px per inch - in which case 300 DPI is more complete. Also when you're simply talking 300 px someone who doesn't understand resolution as well as we do could assume you're taking 300 px in width or length which would be incorrect.

Correct that there is a slight difference between P and DPI but for all intensive purposes they are the same. Also I believe I was talking about photoshop - In which case the display is PX and not DPI when you are creating and new image in PHOTOSHOP.

Went to school for graphic design thanks. Now let the thread die already.
