Re: Post submissions here!
Metina offered to let us do the step-by-step on a thigh(or back) & then post the final pic on the belly.... see if that's ok?
Post the pic anyway... we want to see it!

Re: Post submissions here!
This is what i did yesterday evening! My sister in law is 40 weeks pregnant she actually had to deliver yesterday!
But i had a change to paint her belly again so i did it and this is the result
The tools i used were: the wolfe brothers sponge and the painted areas with royal majestic 2 and 6 roud.
The colors the backroud is the metallic pink and purple partyexplosin and the white dfx.The rose is a mix of the pink metallic partyexplosion and the white dfx and mixing with a little black dfx for the shadow.
The green is dfx light green with a little black dfx and the baby is kryolan skincolor and the brown dfx shadow for the eyes nose etc.

All it takes is paint & a willing belly
Re: Post submissions here!

Re: Post submissions here!
I'd never painted a belly till last month, but grabbed at the opportunity when I had it. It's like face painting, we all had to start somewhere. Now... if I could just get someone to pay me for it....
Re: Post submissions here!
I decided to make it again on a practicepad!...what a disaster...it's totally nothing like skin...it's so much easier on skin...but I tried to make it look alike, so I could enter my step-by-step ed hardy bellypaint of which I am so proud off...
1. make outlining with FX white with a round no 5
2. sponge background with Superstar silver and fill in white parts
3. fill in the roses, snake, leaves and heart with all FX colours and artycakes leave and the purple-lightpurple-golden-white one with chisel and artybrush
4. fill in the black parts and outline everything in black
5. shading in black and highlighting in white and finally the letters in black FX using the round no 5
Re: Post submissions here!
Michelle, I have recently added bellies to my services so I've been doing a ton of research and seeing what other people have painted to get a feel for the direction I want to go with it. Out of EVERYTHING that I have seen, your belly is by far my favorite. I love it!!!
Re: Post submissions here!
I really love the belly, though am wondering why a mom to be would want skulls and snakes. I guess it takes all kinds. Thanks for the wonderful step by step. It truley shows the layers and what goes into making such an intricate design!

Re: Post submissions here!
Michelle, I am in agreement! Of all the bellies I've looked at this is by far my favorite one! I'm glad you found a way to get it into the challenge.
Re: Post submissions here!
