Kryolan is Oily! Empty Kryolan is Oily!

My Kryolan palette that I just bought seems to be oily on top when I let it sit. Is this normal when the weather is warm? It's not a big deal, just wondering.

It's still usable, but the oil will stain your hands, clothes, etc. & it leaks out of the pot if it's tipped. It made a mess in my paint closet & dripped down on one of my silly vests. Yellow & orange are the worst.

I was wondering what was going on...the Kryolan in my kit is fine, and so is one travel kit, but a travel palette (mostly flat colours, one interferenz) has gone mostly oily. I've left it open in hopes that it will dry out - I was so confused!

Ladies.... what it is is glycerin. The glycerin rises to the top in the heat. If you work it back into the cake with a sponge, your makeup will stay creamy. If you wipe that away you kryolan makeup may become dry and crack. You can also add a cpl drops of glycerin to any kryolan that has dried on you. I make sure to store my Kryolan flat (as much as I can control anyways...) and I also keep the foamy insert things that come in the tin palettes so that it will catch any leaking..... Hope that helps!

I didn't realize it was the glycerin. This was old Kryolan That I didn't use anymore. I've since made it splits till it's gone. Yes, after that I stored it all in a plastic container.
