Anyone try offering painting at gentlemen's clubs?
My hubby suggested this to me the other day.
He said that strippers like to have that extra something special then the other dancers and painting their bodies, or using glitters on them could be worth alot of money to them....which in turn could be profitable to me.
Of course, I would only paint at the clean, more expensive clubs.
How do I even approach the dancers? Do I talk to the manager first?
Has anyone done this before?
Thanks for the advice in advance.
Kim

Cat Finlayson paints pole dancers with full body glitter tattoos - absolutely stunning.
I have considered it ... but those clubs are skanky here and to be blunt, I would have to throw out all the sponges and brushes I would use as I wouldn't want to risk using them again... IYKWIM
I paint at night clubs and bars... but avoid the "transient" trade...

I talked to the manager first!! He said sure come on in and see if the girls even want something.
You will need glow in the dark paint, but no glitter!! Dancers dont like glitter cause it kills their money, most men dont want there wifes knowing they were at the club and glitter on their clothes is a dead give away.
I posted some pics not to long ago of my first time in the club, i think it is somewhere on page two.

Thanks psalm I was not sure where that post was.
Re: Anyone try offering painting at gentlemen's clubs?
Interesting note about the glitter. Makes sense, but I would have never thought of it. But I doubt the pole dancers that Kat does gives lap dances.
Re: Anyone try offering painting at gentlemen's clubs?
Of course, coming home w/ paint on them might be suspicious too.....
Re: Anyone try offering painting at gentlemen's clubs?
I used to make body jewelry for strippers -I would get paid in all singles. If you isolate the lead dancer and she likes what you do all the rest will follow. I would probably buy a seperate set up just for clubs.
Re: Anyone try offering painting at gentlemen's clubs?
How do I know who the lead dancer is and how do I get into the club with my paints?

Go and have a drink and hang out with a friend - it will become obvious. You have to becareful - gentlemen's clubs are just that not for the timid-the one I went to was a hot bed for unmentionable activities lets just say the owners other profession was private sanitation iynwim

Like everything else, there are really high quality clubs and questionable ones, you just need to scope out what's what and go from there.
I'm friends with a DJ who occasionally works in a couple of them, and he's a tattoo artist. He is hooking me up with the dancers so I can body paint them for photos and then go from there.
It's a bit of a *ahem* back door way of going about it but it's an "in" (please excuse the unintentional puns! lol)
If I did have the inside info, I would totally go to management first, same as with any other establishment.

Yep, in the UK & especially Hong Kong, pole dance is more a gymnastic event than a 'gentlemans club' thing.
All the ladies I met/ did were mainly teaching it as a fitness thing, competing internationally, etc. Ok in 'minimal' outfits but often cos they were sponsored by lingerie shops AND need maximum bare skin for grip on the pole.
I recently painted the national championships and 1 girl was in UV - looked good but of course not as good as the glitter tatts on the others!
Make very sure you know which parts you can't paint/ cover as otherwise you could cause a dangerous accident if they lost grip...

I painted in a high end Topless bar in Austin for a while, the dancers tip and pay very well, but enjoyed trying to freak me out, I was raised in T-Bars and my step sister is a playboy centerfold nothing freaks me out. My poor hubby who is very shy was picked on a lot by them!
The strangest thing was the he/she beautiful woman with boy parts...was so much fun to paint always had a great sense of humor and no one knew he was a boy down below. Or the older woman with a face to scare anyone and a smoking hot body, she told me once that men never looked at her face. She was a riot on the dance floor. I used to bring home 200.00 a night, during mardi gras I made a fortune! and some ladies would change costumes themes a couple times a night and have me repaint them. This was 20 years ago.

Kat... would UV glitter work as nicely? Maybe worked in a pattern with regular glitter?
Anywho... side story only roughly related to the topic called "My Mom's First Time in a Strip Club." (not related to FP, but funny)
My grandfather was blind since about 9years old from glaucoma, and made a living by making brooms and selling them to businesses. When my mom was young and newly married, she would often help him go to the businesses to drop off the brooms and collect money. Well, one of the establishments was a seedy strip club. My shy, meek mom went in with Pappy in the early afternoon, had a seat, and asked to speak to the manager. (They were the only ones in the bar.) Within a few minutes, music starts up, and an older, somewhat saggy "entertainer" comes out on stage in front of them and starts to do her best to offer them a show. I can imagine my shy 22 year old mom, and her blind father in law sitting there. That poor stripper didn't know she was working the wrong audience! And knowing my Pappy, I'll bet he sat there smiling, enjoying what that would have looked like too.
