Re: Your setup
You can see how it's done at www.clipsigns.com
It's a telescoping pole that fits into a clip that attaches to the table. The menu board has clips on the back that attach to the pole

Re: Your setup
Also loving your setup, Dawnie - especially the container with all the squares for your paints. What kind of container is that?

She actually found the cases and told us about them!

Re: Your setup
I was able to use it today and love it! It was a bit of work to change everything over (especially the splits) but I used my splits so much more today with this new setup than I ever have in the past. Definitely worth it!

Magnetic case - this is such a cool idea! Did you make them yourself or buy them? I was thinking about using velcro but I think magnets would be so cool.
Lady Jayde wrote:Here is my full setup. I have a mini set up that I use for impromptu things but I rarely use it now that I've gone to the magnets. If I'm doing a gig with a specific design sheet for the kids to choose from I simply swap out my paints to accomodate the list and bring a single case insted of two. Yes...I'm a tart...I know...but I had help
This is my setup prep table at home. I do a full setup before gigs to make sure I don't forget anything. It's worked so far...so far. My paint boxes are magnetized and my paints all have magnets on the bottom so I can close my case and everything stays put. Another benefit is that I can swap out colors (here they're organized by manufacturer) for a particular gig if I only want to bring out one case. I did that for a gig at a car dealership this weekend and it worked great (now I have to go and put everything back in order, lol.
My Marvelously Lazy-Glitter Wheel.
This is my set up for a big gig when I'm not limited to fast design.I'm right handed so this works really well for me if I set my chair up alongside the paints.
Re: Your setup
So do you ladies take out the paints from the original containers and put them in different ones. i see on Suzys 1st picture all the colors are in one container and it looks like the ones that hold jewelry beads.( i know i prob sound a lil dumb asking) but i think that is soo awesome and have a few of those around the house.
Re: Your setup
A lot of us re-pot our paints so they take up less space. I re-potted mine in black plastic jewelry trays. It's by far, my favorite setup I've ever had. In the photo, you'll see my large rainbows are still in original containers, but now they are in a jewelry tray that has larger squares. I love the look and adore only having to pull out three large trays and then get to work! You can see the newer kit in the link to a newscast I did.

Re: Your setup
I'm doing that now..omg id be so lost with out the fourm!!! I have been using the trying my Snz come in and cut them down.and everything is in a kaboodle..so not fun!!
Re: Your setup
I did that before but found that it was too small a space to squeeze my sponges in there... I much prefer being able to swirl my sponge over the top of my nice big snaz cakes.
Re: Your setup
Cheryl,
I love the idea of the multi colored stones in the glasses for brush holders. Of course being so lazy I try to keep my setup as light as possible so probably no rocks for me.... but it's a smart idea. And pretty too.

Re: Your setup
I'm sure the guys at www.clipsigns.com would ship to Australia... just email them and ask how much it would be
Re: Your setup
^their website says they no longer take retail orders, you must order 100 units+ to buy direct from them.

Re: Your setup
Wow! I ordered one like a few weeks ago...must've just changed their policy- I'm sorry!
Re: Your setup
Love the tip on the jewelry tray! I have the lap top cases for now though. They are quick to pull out and set up.
Re: Your setup
My set-up is about to change, the big metal case you'll see in it is falling apart on me (6 years of heavy use) and I don't think I'll be able to replace it. Still not sure what I'll switch to. Being able to set up fast and break down cleanly is important on a day with multiple parties. I don't do a lot of festival work, and my set-up for that is pretty similar to gig set-up. http://facepaintnh.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/DSCF0077.jpg

Re: Your setup
Barb... did you buy those half walls like that or did you just fold your regular walls in half?
Re: Your setup
Rhonda i just folding the tarps in half..i got them on ebay..they are 6x10 they were pretty reasonable....tright now they have them for 6.95 plus 7.85 to ship.. you could prolly just look and find a better shipping but this works great for me....and if you want you can open them all the way but this way the kids can look but they can't touch lol
Re: Your setup
I found half walls at http://www.quikshade.com/Product_Detail.aspx?Id=1000
They were $10 each. I've ended up painting the outside of the half walls with colorful designs. I'm going to do my full back wall too when I get time. I'll show a pic when I get it all done
