Loading up your fatmax
So I have this big thing on wheels called a fatmax. Any pictures out there on how you load your stuff? I tried set ups in the search and it came back none found. I know there are pics out there. Thanks.
Fat Max Setup with Labels
I've changed a few things around but it's basically the same. The last picture is how to use bungies to attach a foam core top. Just used it today. Wouldn't use it for long festivals, but works great for 2 hours or less.

Also, one of our forum members kindly posted this video showing her set up, including her fatmax.

It's what makes me want to get one so badly. Transportation, containment, organization, and a table all in one? Oh YEAH! And I'm only 2 inches taller than the video poster but I'm terrified to spend the money and be in pain from stooping (since I stand to paint).
Anyways. Have fun setting up your Fatmax!

Re: Loading up your fatmax
Where do you both get your flat cases for paints and how much do they cost? I wanted the black ones they sell for paints but didn't want to pay $25 each plus shipping. Your setups looks great! I'm just starting and got my fatmax yesterday. This post gave me a lot of tips, Thanks!!!

Here is mine

I still would like to add more paints, maybe another palette of paints. Just need to figure out how to do the table top without buying a table!
Ooops, I just saw that my video is already listed above!

Re: Loading up your fatmax
Is the top (where the paints, water and brushes are) of the fatmax secure, it looks like an accident waiting to happen especially since I am a klutz and then there's the kids bumping into things!
Re: Loading up your fatmax
Here's mine... it's changed a little bit- I now have 2 of the clipsigns so I have 2 foam core boards turned longways one above the other with 5x7 pics instead of 4x6.
And yes, Astrid- the top is very secure- there are bungies holding it down on the sides and then my sign holder thingy holds it at the back.

Re: Loading up your fatmax
I need those clip sign things. So cool.
I haven't had any trouble with my tabletop yet because the bungie cords hold it pretty well. I might have to get a leg like Barb has though because my lid took a beating when the tent was whipping around.
I do wish they'd fix the handle/lock issues though. Even though I've babied it, it still feels loose just rolling it around.

Re: Loading up your fatmax
It's just foam core board that you can buy at Walmart. I bought three to make it extra sturdy and duct taped them together with zebra- striped tape.
I just learned that the clip sign guys changed their website and now you can only buy wholesale.... bummer! I'm glad I got my second one before they did that! I couldn't do a party without my clipsigns now... I've been using them for a year and a half LOL!
But there are a million ways to use the fatmax and every one of us that uses it probably has a different set up. You just have to play around with it until it suits you. I've changed where every thing is in mine many times. I think I finally have everything the way I like it... but you never know, I could change it again next week! LOL

Re: Loading up your fatmax
Just had my palette knocked over last night! Ack! Some young teen thought she could squeeze thru my kit and the bouncy basketball goal. She looked around at what she did and walked off! I was in shock! I had to stop the line and proceed to sanitize all my paints! Of course, my fav chunky glitter was also on that tray

That stinks cottonkandy and she didn't even help to clean it up or apologize? sheesh!
Re: Loading up your fatmax
I usually when I use my fat max have 3 walls on my tent so no one can even get by my kit...one way in and one way out lol...[img][/img]
Re: Loading up your fatmax
Not sure if you can see it well, but my top-most section contains my water containers, my brush holder (that clear orange-trim plastic piece keeps little fingers from messing with my brushes), and a small plastic bin for new q-tips and one for used q-tips (for lips) and used wipies. The middle section I have closest to me contains my suzy's sparkles and glitter poofs and the other container assorted goodies I want close to me. The next double section I removed the divider and have my baby wipes there. The next 4 sections contain my assorted sponges divided as to size/function. the bottom most bin is where I put my purse under the lift off tray. The tray holds my closed starblend laptop, my tip jar, my closed Lumiere palette, my closed jewel bin, and extra cards.
when I'm done, I empty the water and place the empty containers in the bottom bin along with the folding foam-core table top extension (bungeed on), the starblend laptop case, jewels, towels, and dirty sponge bag. The paint cases fold and go flat in the top most section with the tray covering it.

Re: Loading up your fatmax
Our local "Dirt Cheap" store had 5 fat-max's for sale today, unfortunately each one had either a wheel missing, huge crack, or missing handles... never saw the price, but the dings would be too major to justify purchasing a damaged one.

Rebecca what a great set up she has.. thanks for sharing..Was wondering what to do with my sons old(new) black velvet drapes. Michaels had those grass signs on clearance for 1.99 each about 12x18" and they also had black lettering too. again thanks

i love your sign holder. My hubby is trying to figure out how to make one. How is the pole? Is it like a tent type pole?
