nicely done! the smile really makes it. only thing that really jumps out is the white is a bit pale, but that's easy to fix with your new paint. and in the never ending quest to be able to draw perfect tiny lines, yours are pretty good Smile

Very well done.
Over all you have a really good Olaf. You can totally tell who it is.
But if you really want to blow it out of a park....

-Make the mouth WAY bigger. Have the lower part drop down lower.
-Eyes rounder and closer together
-Eyebrows need to be angled differently so that they make him look more 'apologetic' like a sorry puppy
-make hands look more like sticks, less like hands. 4 'fingers' on each side, one of them lower as a thumb
-'hair' sticks should be emerging closer together then fanning out
-last but not least, in your photo the body is facing right, as well as the shadow on his head, but his nose and eyes are looking left. Try having them face forward or slightly right and it will feel more cohesive.

critique please :) Olafhappy

Painted this guy SO many times omg.... *eye twitch*

Your Olaf looks good. I f-ing hate painting Olaf, so I quit. As in I don't even offer him, but will paint if begged to do so. I now paint a Princess Elsa crown that thrills the little girls immensely and takes me about a minute and a half.

I'm sick of Frozen! I can't wait for everyone else to get sick of it too.

F*** Disney and their police!

F*** Anna and Elsa! Especially their live counterparts who are currently eating my birthday gigs. I swear I'm tempted to start pimping out my blonde daughter and brunette niece as "Fun-sized Anna and Elsa". Am I onto something here? I have a fun-sized super-hero too. Am I allowed to pimp my kids out as entertainers?

/End rant (eye still twitching)

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread darling. Forest-fairy's ideas are sound as usual.

CreativeFacesBerkshire - try having a wax based face paint for your black and white. It's more opaque and works better for line work then glycerin based paint. Wax based would be like Tag, Wolf, DFX, Global among others.

I think you are on to something Kal. I do get requests for 'kid Elsa' and 'kid Ana' some times. They want me to paint the little mini characters on their faces and it's usually when I have a huge line -.-

As long as they are YOUR kids, or at least family, you can totally employ them. You just have to follow the rules for number of hours they can work and so forth.

I'm temped to just make a stencil for all of the characters, I don't care how 'cheating' it would be lol.

Did you see my blog post One Stencil To Rule Them All ?

Was thinking about making an body stencil for Olaf just to save time, as filling in the other features is so easy if the body is in the right proportions.

I'm really hoping the Frozen thing will blow over soon, I'm getting so bored of it. But with a sequel in the making..... it's clear Disney is trying to milk the cow until it dies.

yup it seems the rumors are true.

http://www.franchiseherald.com/articles/21211/20150128/frozen-2-release-date-jennifer-lawrence.htm

There is also going to be a live stage show, a short film, and a book series.

Like I said, that cash cow is gonna produce til it dies.

I can only hope the fever starts to light up a bit with the public.

A favorite line from my blog on this

"I am no longer a face painter, my sole job is to foster little girls requests for 'Elsa', 'Snow Queen', 'Frozen', and 'Let it Go', (not kidding i've had 3 kids ask for 'Let it Go' when wanting to be a snow queen) while trying to retain my sanity by coming up with a million variations on this theme."
