Re: Word board verses Painted Designs for events
That is funny! I love seeing the kids come back throughout the day to look at themselves in those mirrors

Re: Word board verses Painted Designs for events
I am doing my first big festival and want to use a word board for more freedom but can't figure out how to do 3 tiered pricing for a word board. I am scrambling to make signs and menu boards yet I've been spinning my wheels for 2 hours on how I want to approach it. Has anyone had a good experience with tiered pricing and word boards?

AH! I just noticed LittleMonsters' double price word board. My anxiety is beginning to lift. It is not rocket science, it's painting. Why all the stress? (Talking to myself a lot this morning.)

Hi Cammidale, the small colored stickers worked well for my fist PPF event. Hope yours goes well too!
If you're going to do 3 prices and you're unsure whether or not people will understand the difference... you could pick one of your designs and do up 3 examples and have them shown near your board. For example, if you were doing (I don't know) cheek, eye, full-face for your tiers and you picked butterfly, then paint those 3 versions and display them as an example so people know what each tier/color/whatever means.
Using erase board for listing design options
I am still in the learning stage on some desgins and I thought about using a large white erase board to list my designs and prices. That way I can change the list and prices when I need to until I get better at the designs. Do you think this will look alright and not too simple?

Re: Word board verses Painted Designs for events
one of them mentioned it's cardstock, check your local art supply or craft store.
i tried using thin sheets of craft foam, however they were dry and absorbed paint, so i would recommend something with a smoother surface.
others have also mentioned sheets of plastic and even waxed paper.
i think denise cold mentioned she can share the template she uses, maybe pm (private msg) her.
here's a link to a previous thread with face templates, scroll down to find the post with the links, however you'll have to pm the person who posted them, looks like the links no longer work -

Re: Word board verses Painted Designs for events
the only thing that might go wrong with a dry erase board is..the erase part kids touching it, bumping into it, etc.
a quick alternative is to print designs or words on heavy paper or cardstock, tape to a board or put in sheet protectors in a binder. you can print 4-6 to a sheet to save space if needed.
it's cheaper if you have your own desktop printer, because if you change your mind and swap pics in and out, you don't pay the high color print fees at a shop.

Re: Word board verses Painted Designs for events
If i don't know the event, and the client can't give me clear numbers of estimates, then I use a word board usually. Once I got a feel for it, then next time I use my painted boards which will display the level of complexity that best suits the turn out of the event. Or some times I have them in the car, so i just bring them out.
My Word Board
I just created this one for a big event Ill be at this Saturday! Feel free to use it or manipulate it however you'd like!
