Re: Post Entries Here!
Here's my entry for the mermaids content... mermaids playing in the bubbles mask Here's how it went down:
1: too a small angle brush, and some white, and roughed in the design.
Sorry for the surly expression, I tend to give frowny face when I am painting and photographing my own mug... I think it's concentrating that does it, but since I inherited my dad's jowls and frown lines, you can just blame it on genetic grumpyface syndrome.
OK, step 2: block in the fleshy bits with a brown one-stroke... same small angle brush... think I went with the two middle stripes of my 5-stripe TAG flesh cake. Don't have to be precise here, because the fleshy color can show through the hair and give more dimension anyways
This is not the best photo. Could be the iPhone, could be user error, could just be my meanie face breaking the lens. The fleshy bits are the mermaids' faces, arms and tummy areas.
Next: time to get jazzy... tail color time! I used two custom one-strokes that I made from Global standard and metallic colors... one is a purple/pink/teal/green, the other is green/blue/gold/purple.... used a bit bigger angle brush to do the fins and tails...
You could do any two one-stokes you like, I just happen to be drooling over these two and hadn't used 'em yet, so those are the two I chose.
Next up: mer-hair! Went with a custom green one-stroke mix, and a custom brown/copper one-stroke mix, and applied with the smaller angle brush to outline face, cover the ta-tas and extend into the deep
Just drag and pull in little ripples to get their locks rockin' solid ....
Next: now that all the main color blocking is done, it's time to get to the details. I used a #2 liner for all the outlining, dots, details and shenanigans from here to the end.... first, I started with the basic outlining on both mermaids in black (my new Global Pro Black, because I just got it in my hot little hands and I wanted to see how it worked)...
Once that was done, then I started doing the detailing... I did faces, accented hair, added some black scales to the tails, added lining to the fins, again, all in black... then, I went back and did white accents - all the "bubbles" are just white dots of varying sizes, and there's white accents in the fins, tails, hair and eyes of the mermaids. Also gave them both some little itty bitty red lips
Then, I colored in my lips (metallic green, teal on top, and purple for the bottom). I don't know what it is about colored lips, but girls go nuts when they see me with them. Total $ maker.
Last step: glitter frenzy. I went with an iridescent/silver mix for the bubbles, deep purple and copper on the purple mermaid with brown hair, and a one of my favs: a pea soup green for the green-haired mermaid. Also popped a bit of those colors of glitter on my lips to tie it all together.
And here's the final result (both sides for reference)...

hi Metina. How do I DO that? There is nowhere to post/upload on my screen (I've seen it before) not that I think I'll win. Is the site being managed at (US night?) it's really slow on this end/ fast on other pages.
I wanna play too

Mermaid entry
This is my go at 'mermaid'. I saw some lush tails and love to have a go! Bit of a 1950's lady.

I love your fish tails Bumblebee. I would like to do this design with as much class Happy anyhow. Yay!
