Fleur de lys in purple, yellow and green
Great idea ! I had some free time today so I jumped right on it
Since purple, yellow and green are the traditional colors for Mardi Gras, and the "fleur de lys" is one of it's symbol (I'm quite familiar with it as it's on the flag of where I'm from), I decided to do a traditional Mardi Gras mask that simply focuses on the colors and the symbol.
1) I outlined my design, using dots on both sides of the face to make the lines as equal as I could. I filled in the mask with the 3 colors I had chosen.
2) I added shadow and highlight to the 3 colors, as well as black lines.
3) I applied white around the design to make it pop,as well as purple lipstick and some good ol' eye makeup, placing a tissue under my eye to prevent fallout on the facepaint. And voilĂ !

Re: Post Entries Here!
i like the lighter shades of color you used, and the way you blended them. reminds me of spring, while the winter wind is howling and it's 2 degrees tonight.

Re: Post Entries Here!
Yesterday I painted a mask and at the end I realized that I forgot to take pictures. So this one can not participate but I'll share it with you.

Re: Post Entries Here!
sometimes photos post sideways on forum. to prevent this, crop photo (even a tiny bit) and save it first. post cropped version on the forum and it will be upright.
to post photos or images on the forum (direction for posting from cell phone, i assume computer is same or similar) -
* in rows of icons at top of posting box, click on bottom left icon (computer screen with disk).
*when new box comes up, click "choose file".
from your computer or cell phone, go to images folder or location and click on one you want to upload.
* box will return with img title next to it - IMG followed by numbers and ending with "edit.jpg".
under "resize images", click on drop down menu (800 px width), and choose 640 px width. this is better size for image to fit in forum column.
then click "host it" button below.
* wait until new box comes up with 3 lines of url code. this may take awhile. click "host it" button again if nothing happens.
click and hold on middle line labeled "image", it will highlight, and row of icons will come up.
click on "copy" icon, far left, looks like 2 sheets of paper.
* click on computer icon with disk again, to close image box and return to posting box.
* click in posting box where you want to place image, hold or right click and chose "paste" icon.
url of image will paste into posting box.
keep a line of space above and below url, to separate it from text. add text where you want.
* hit "send" below box to post image and text to forum.

Re: Post Entries Here!
I hope this counts as a venetian mask, even if the colours are a bit different .
Step 1:
Paint the mask colors with a sponge. I used DFX metallic pink and DFX metallic white. On top of that, I used a BAM stencil and TAG Berry rose.
I added a one-stroke rose:
And then details and edge with DFX black:
And the final photo (the neck is inspired by other people, and a mix ):

Re: Post Entries Here!
Just had an other look at the entries, and they are beautiful!
Rockxval I like your use of the colours, and the shape of the mask.
Krystlekreations the feathery look is very nice. And the bling too - nice mask!
Maricarmenv the symmetry is very well done! And it is nice and colorful - plus liquid bling - yay
SaraM: It is a beautiful mask with perfect teardrops! And a very nice touch with the music notes.
Thefacepaintingfairy: Beautiful colours! and a very nice mask too!
I love these challenges - and how all the different ideas, paint styles and ideas turn out . Thank you Metina for making the challenges
