Re: Post Submissions Here!
My other daughter wanted in on the fun.....HAHA!~!
Brushes used were Loew-Cornell #2 & #4, and paradise chisel brush.
I used Snaz Red & Kryolan Pink for the hearts. Added the "wings" with teardrops of Wolfe White. Purple swirls added with Wolfe Metallic purple. I outlined the wings in Wolfe black, and an outline around them with Wolfe Metallic purple then and added Snaz sparkle purple eyeshadow with the chisel brush.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
This was all done with a #4 round and diamond fx paint. I used mehron powder on the sword blade.
first I did the white banner, then added the heart. Next I started the sword blade and the handle. Lastly I added the word 'heartbreaker' in the banner and outlined and high lighted everything.
This one surprised me, my son never wants his face painted, he always gets his belly painted. It was a challenge to come up with a design to please him (he's 3) that I could pull off quickly and would fit the theme. He wanted a Valentine's Day bulldozer. LOL
I didn't get great step by step pics of this one as I am alone with my three kids at the moment and the baby was being umm...helpful LOL

I would really love to see a valentine's day bulldozer on your son's belly!
But I really like the hard core tat-looking design!
How many submissions this month? Lots n lots is so much fun!

I haven't entered anything in a while -so here goes...I used all dfx basics pallette and a number 4 round. I started by out blocking in in white then built from the rose out. This is for Caitlin's 17th birthday.

Gamez-that tiger is adorable! Thanks for the compliment I really appreciate the kind words -I'm almost two years in and I just love this art form.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
There are still a lot of things I want to do to tweak this design, but I told myself I had to post it before the challenge was done!
I used the following:
DFX white
snaz sparkle turquoise
snaz sparkle pink
DFX metallic blue
DFX red
sponge
dotter sponge (1" I think?)
#3 round brush
steps:
1. With pale colors, I like to start with a white base. (DFX White)
2. Add a base color over the eye, trailing down the cheek (snaz sparkle turquoise)
3. Add a circle of second color at the inner eye using a sponge or dotter sponge. (snaz sparkle pink)
4. Add "swan neck" C shapes meeting at the top to form a heart. also fan drops for inner tail. Note: I did this by starting at the base of the circle/body of the bird.
5. 2 teardrops, tips meeting form heart-shaped heads. I used contrasting colors (DFX Red and metallic blue)
6-8. Teardrops/Swirls to form body/wings/tail of the bird using same contrasting colors as head.
9-10. Add white or silver dots and hearts for accents including beaks and eyes. (DFX white)
11. finished! ...
12. ... unless you feel the need to embellish further... (optional)
13. Optional design on opposite eye using same color scheme.
I hope this slideshow posts correctly. If not, I may have to try again... all the "fancy" things you can do to it doesn't seem to work well here so I just opted for 'plain'.
here's the link as well: http://www.rockyou.com/show_my_gallery.php?source=ppsl&instanceid=156387149
I also hope the pictures upload properly...

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I used Wolfe white for the outline on the face, with a #2 Loew-Cornell brush, then sponged in Snaz sparkle Pink for the base. I added Snaz sparkle purple & Wolfe metallic purple blended for the "eyeshadow" on the mask.
Using Wolfe White I started making small loops on the inside of the mask for the beginning of the lace. I also added the hearts & tear drops in Wolfe White. On the outside I made the lace with a #2 Loew-Cornell brush & Wolfe white. Finally I added the pearls with DFX Metallic white and shaded the underside of the mask & pearls with a wash of Paradise black. Wolfe metallic red for the lips and
Ta-Da!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
WOW! I am blown away by the number of submissions. Nice job everyone!
For everyone I pm'ed about needing final photos, please do so by end of today to get the voting up. I will be posting the voting first thing in the morning, so if I don't get it, I will not be able to include you in the voting. SORRY, but the rules do say to post a final photo.
Also, since the winner will be featured in the Feb. issue of the newsletter, the voting will be a short turn around. So make sure to vote as soon as it is up.
