Holy cow! A scored a wooden kit for $1 !!!

A new thrift store opened up at the end of my road.  The owner is the mother of  my daughter's boyfriend.  I asked her to be on the lookout for a guitar case or something similar I could use as a case for my paints.  Look at what I got for a $1  !! It's one of those plein air "french mistress" cases.  They retail for around $80.  I told her she wasn't charging me enough but she insisted!  Lucky me!   I wasn't sure if I'd be able to use it or not but I couldn't pass it up for a $1.

   (a few things added) the small case (pink/green/black & white) holds 7 of my most used splits, I repurposed a picture hanging kit I had bought at a hardware store).

 (with the slide tray open.  Then my 2 open (lids removed) modified tag 12 pot palettes, my my ben nye lumiere palette and my ben nye magicakes palette sit in the spot where the tray HAD been).

on top of this I add some bubble wrap to keep things from moving about when closed.

I have scaled my paints down to the minimum.  I used to love carrying all my large containers, splits, all my rainbow cakes, etc, but it was much too heavy and after I finally realized what the "favorites" were, I started only carrying those.  what's the point in having a million split cakes if you only end up using 8 out of those?



I have added extra pots from Jest Paint to my lumierre kit (glued to magnets) and the small pots on the far left with red dots are repotted starblends.

when the kit is open on a table, the drawer slides out further and the paints lay flat. I also have full size cakes of white and black Magicakes, white and black Wolfe, and white and black paradise (depending on design), not shown.

here's the front of the case when it's open. (just realized I'm not happy with the panda, but, oh well, they get the general idea.) I re-did my menu board using the bald heads, painted them, laminated them, and color coded as to price. those are ones that didn't fit on my boards.

wow! as a side note, why do you have so many greens? what do you make with them all?

I like having a light and a dark green (tag light green, paradise brilliant green in the right palette).   the two greens in the middle shown came with the magicakes palette, and the one on the left  is green/yellow mix starblend, something I can't live without, lol.

the hot pink stripe at the bottom of my black brush storage folder is to remind me NOT to place it in the case upside down. I hate it when my brushes fall out!
