Emotional week. Sorting it out.

Mike is unchanged though rather feisty this morning. According to the nurse. He is trying to push through the sleep meds again. They won't increase them because he is already on such a high dose. Instead she gave him more pain meds. It is there intent to keep him under for another 24 hours but it's likely I will have to come stay with him so he will hopefully stay down. Lol they are getting ready to pull his heart catheter.

Keep on keepin' on.  

Thinking of you and your husband and sending prayers. Sounds like, even with everything, he's stronger than you think!! Things will get better soon xoxo

Mike is awake! Though very weak and extremely groggy. Already making demands! Lol

Praise the Lord! You all are still in my prayers that he continues to recover and get even more feisty as the days go on :-)

Praying & wishing for a full recovery!

So I had this big update I was typing this morning about the last 2 days which were rough. Then halfway through I got a phone call from the hospital. It was mike as I have been waiting for him. Took 48 hours for him to recover from anesthesia and the exhausting coughing gunk up. The world became bright beautiful and perfect. He spent the day amazing and wowing the staff. And hit more recovery marks than anyone expected.

Then about 530 he asked me to help him get in a clean gown. I walked out got the gown from the nurse and was on my way back in. I heard chimes but paid no attention until I walked in and found mike on the floor. They called a code on him. They worked on him a long time. 10 minutes of CPR, a few shocks, they did get him back. so currently he is stable.and sedated. tonight is mostly observation. we will see what tomorrow brings. his tests and xrays look good. it appears that his heart started fluttering and wasn't moving the blood. which would make him dizzy and he had been sitting in a chair. he was concious when he went down. he tried to protect himself in the fall. but it was likely the fall that caused his heart to stop.

I'm sorry to hear about this setback, hope he continues to get better though. I'm sure the surgery was a big blow to his body. Keeping you both in my prayers

It's scary, but not at all unusual!!!!! My 80 year old friend had the same surgery w/complications & had this happen the 2nd time she sat in a chair. She's about to turn 84. Please remember to take some deep breaths, eat & drink, try to get some rest & take any & all help that is offered. We'll all keep praying for you & Michael.

It has been a bit crazy over here! Mike is home, pending another surgery. They decided he needs a defibrillator. He is doing much better since he has come home. But it is a rough time since he did leave against medical advice. (AMA) It worries me but was a need to for him. Staying there to wait another week was not a good thing for him. So he is home with an unknown wait time. Though there is an appointment with the cardiologist on Monday to try and get him prescriptions since none were given to us yesterday. Only time will tell what is ahead for us. But at least we are together. I can't deny my worry though since I can not leave mike unattended (I have to keep him alive and recovering after all!), which means neither of us are working...

Soooo tired..........
