Try eventhelper.com. I called them & they upped to a year, had me list under vendor", additonally insured applied to both helpers & venues. The certificates used "Accord", which is what World Clown used a few years ago. Cost me $225, and I can update additionally insured at will online.
Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
looks like eventhelpers is a Verasity Insurance affiliate, like Bodyworks Insurance. Specialty says I don’t need a separate vendors policy, but I sure like the idea of adding additionally insured at will. My husband and daughter usually accompany me at festivals.
wish it were easier to pick the right policy - eventhelpers sure seems to have great reviews though.

I got a quote from RLI today (they are the underwriters for Bomba agency and I got Minimum coverage for now and it is just 202$ for the year and just like everyone here said they cover up to 10 people and they cover you at events as well as at home and they cover your gear too! Theft, fire, even acts of terrorism for a 1$ more (sad that that has to be a thing ) I think they are the ones I will go with they were all easy to get through to and/ or called back quickly. I was leery of Bomba at first they have a sketchy website but I checked with the California Insurance Bureau and he waas all up-to-date with all of his licensing. Bomba can't insure in my state (Maine) so he sent me to RLI. I hope that this helps.

Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
I just copied this off Bomba’s website - under the Q&A section.
Q: Can we have more than one named insured?
A: No. The business must be operated by the insured and/or another immediate family member who resides in the insured's household.

It convers up to 10 workers, and your husband and daughter.
Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
If you ask about employees they tell you you can have up to 10. Just call him he will help you through everything. When I spoke to him, he was very clear and upfront about what they can and cannot cover. If you don't like what they tell you you don't have to sign up for it. I am going to ask for a copy of the policy tomorrow to make sure that everything they told me will be in writing before I sign anything. I don't blame you for being nervous or skeptical it is so easy to be used and taken advantage of. But I looked up Bomba's info and it says he has been practicing for almost 40 years so at the very least he is not a fly-by-night agent. He also said that if I had any more questions I could call and he isn't even going to be my agent. Bomba's info

Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
I made a chart to compare the main insurance carriers. Also, the comments from the main carrier who Summit and others use (if you do body painting or teaching, do not use them!)
Bodyworks will not cover you if you do balloons.

Hope the chart helps

Thanks so much! I actually just had this brought up again to me a few days ago and I know I need to get on the ball and secure something. Thanks for the info!

That is an awesome reasearch Lilly. Thank you for sharing it!!!
Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
This is a great list, and thanks for taking the time to do it!
I'm in my second year with Specialty, and for my ten cents worth, I feel it's the most specifically tailored to what we do, understands the nature of what we do, and offers the most comprehensive coverage. I DON'T have a vested interest in saying this. It is just my opinion.
I think the $220 is worth it for the peace of mind. Now, I've never had to use the insurance, but my gut feeling is that it's the one to go with.
Anyone have other thoughts? I'm interested in hearing others' experiences.

NancyD wrote:LorrinWagner, I called today and was quoted at almost $300. When I included his broker fee, it was over $300 for the year. :/
Did anyone decide on a different company?
Yeah i got quoted $301 for a year with bomba. I'm going to stick with my first choice and go with specialty insurance.
Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
Thanks for all of the research and input from every one. I'm finally getting around to making phone calls, and just got a quote from Specialty Insurance for $375- coverage for myself and all employees. (I'm expanding, yay!)
Does anyone have any recent input, choices you've made and are happy with...or not so happy with?
I appreciate the feedback!

Re: Insurance - great, low cost and wonderful coverage!
Last year I made up a chart of all the companies I could find that cover us. I am updating it this week.
