I just wanted to make a post for everyone to understand that it is not easy running this forum or moderating it. I try my best and do it as a courtesy to help Metina out because she can't always police this whole forum.

The last 2 weeks for me have been awful with dealing with my friend dying in the ICU and then I come on here to relax at night and walk into people arguing with me and fighting and questioning me over and over. If I or anyone delete your post... it is because it was not allowed or it is causing problems for some reason. It does not need to be taken personally... I NEVER remember who's posts get deleted so please don't think I am sitting here judging people. I have also deleted posts of people who I absolutely love and it broke my heart. METINA has also asked me to delete MY POSTS... Nothing personal and it is all just for the good of the forum.

People who want to continuously argue with moderators will be possibly banned from the site. It is unfair to be so mean to me over something I am VOLUNTEERING for.

Just a refresher...

No selling/trading stuff that you make (stencils, logos, websites, etc) If you want to be sure something is allowed... please ask, we will let you know.

No promoting your 'store' or things you make. If you would like to pay for advertising, please contact Metina support@facepaintforumshop.com as long as it is a product that Metina doesn't sell, everything should be fine.

This forum is paid for and sponsored by Metina. She pays for the photo storage, prizes, etc... out of her own pocket. She needs to re-coup some of those costs by sales on the facepaintforumshop... Therefor please don't post links to other shops...

If Metina doesn't sell something and you want to ask where to buy it... eg: "Where can I buy Ben Nye paint" You can post a link if you have one.

I am sure I will add more to this post but as of right now this is what I wanted to say.

Thanks for listening!

Suzy, so sorry hear about your friend. I'm sure most people totally understand about the forum and not promoting other sites. This forum is great and much appreciated. Thanks to all involved for the sponsorship of it and for all the work involved.

Dear Suzy:
I am so sorry about your friend dying in the ICU.

When I decided to face paint for a living, I found another forum, first. It was awful. There were people fighting and name calling. There were people trying to sell their face paint related wares on that forum and were IRATE at being told that it is not good form to sell product on a forum sponsored by people who are already selling that type of product. The most obnoxious people do not get that THEY are the ones being obnoxious. I went away from the computer for a while. Then, I had a question and I found THIS Forum. The most amazing, kind people answered my newbie questions. I felt so welcomed here. I have not noticed if you have deleted my posts. I HAVE noticed something FUNNY.... I wrote an expletive, and it got changed to another word. I find myself copying the Forum and saying, "Oh, Schnitzel" now.

Suzy and Metina

I am sorry for such a awful time you are having! I think this is an amazing forum and love what you have created here!

I too was on another forum for a minute and thought--wow I am SO Glad I found this forum first or else I would be totally OK with crappy work thinking that is the normal--but now I know I need to do better, and with everything Ihave learned on here I can!

I wish I had money to spend at the store every week! I always check here first for the things I want---thank you for all you two do!!

Thank you for all your hard work!

Suzy, I too am very sorry for your loss Dear. I hope you can find some comfort in your memories. The forum is a great place and you guys do a wonderful job of keeping it up. I hope people can behave and not get themselves banned because I believe everyone on here has something important to offer. Its unfortunate that you have to deal with "attitude" when everyone should be grown up enough to follow the rules. I hope things look brighter for you soon Suzy, take care. I love you

That is the problem, there is no LOSS yet... Her mom is keeping her on life support so it is like the longest most terrible funeral ever... and it is 'expected' that we all put our lives on hold visiting her every day. EVEN though she is almost completely brain dead. She will never wake up... so it just keeps going and going and is terrible to see a friend from when you were little... basically dead, pooping themselves and full of tubes and infection after infection. Keeping someone on life support that has no chance is a horrible thing to do and everyone (including her 3 poor little kids) life is on hold watching her....... every day.. not improve at all..... waiting...

Sorry for the rant... love you all!!!

I have made it clear to my family that I do not want that. I guess I'm going to have to put it officially in writing. I don't want my family fighting with my husband if he follows my wishes.

What a horrible thing to deal with! I wish you a lot of strength, and I hope your friend won't have to stay like that for to long. That is no way to live.
Besides that you and Metina have my deepest respect for running this forum. It must be hard work to keep it updated etc.

I'm confused.

Suzy, you recently Private messaged me, on the forum, to trade my stencils I make for your glitter gels you make.

So that is not allowed?

Suzy, So sorry for this all too common situation. Just let the other issues slide off your back, if you can...not really important right now!
Another nurse here, who feels for you & your friend's family. Let this be a lesson for all of us. Check to see if you can use a "Health Care Proxy" in your state.
1- you don't need a lawyer & it's FREE! All hospitals should have them.
2- it doesn't need to be notarized
3- you do need 2 witnesses
4- specify who you want to speak for you when you can't. (1 or more OK)
5- keep copy in wallet/home/MD office
6- Each time you go to a hospital, THEY ASK IF YOU HAVE AN "ADVANCE DIRECTIVE" SAY YES & GIVE THEM A COPY.
I ALWAYS TOLD MY PATIENTS IT IS BETTER TO DISCUSS YOUR WISHES NOW, NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE DRAMA OF A LIFE & DEATH SITUATION. Telling your loved ones how you feel about advanced life support is an act of love. I've sat & held a wife or husband's hand too often telling them, "I know you never thought you'd be sitting in this seat, being asked to make this decision."
Take the burden of responsibility off of their shoulders & tell them what you want now.

it wasn't for stencils... it was for help using your cutter for making my save the dates for my wedding ...and a few other little things since i didn't have a cricut and wanted a few little personal touches to my wedding .. i just thought it would be a fun little thing to add and was not trying to make money off of you... i will assume that since you ignored my pm (sent a month ago) that you are just trying to throw me under the bus... but i asked metina first. i also asked metina if i could put all of the glitter gels that were used once as a sample could go in and she said no.... hope that helps... Well, not yet Suzy, here in Holland we have first another 'holiday' for kids.
Sinterklaas. It's about an old man with a lot of black servants (zwarte pieten). This man gives.presents to children. It's comparable with your Santa Clause.

I am going to talk about the topic even taking the risk of being banned, I am a tattooist, not a face painter so I don't benefit a lot from this forum, It is easy to feel this is a personal discrimination, when you don't follow your own rules, I recently saw an attack to a member who posted pictures to cut in personal cutting machines, she wasn't selling anything just sharing files as everyone here share the face painted LICENSED characters as princesses, mini mouse or spiderman, it didn't hurt Metinas' shop as she doesn't sell stencils, maybe it was hurting some members that have shops and sell stencils, these people are members here just to take advantage of us, they don't share anything and only post when some one ask for specific stencil design or they see their designs being cutter for some one else.

I respect and understand the forum has to have some regulations, but the idea is to keep a good atmosphere and maintain the members, I see a lot of painters that don't visit this forum anymore cause there are a lot of specific and more interactive groups on face book, I have bought supplies on Metinas' shop because the recommendations in this forum, and have the change to review products even those not selling by the shop is one of the hits the forum offer.

Rest assured, that 99.9% of the issue is when new folks discover this forum and thing it would be a perfect way to sell or get rid of whatever they need to. I totally get. It is so easy to assume that a free forum is just that free to everyone. Well it has taken years of hard effort on mine and Suzy's part and a good bit of money to keep the forum ad free, paying for the newsletters, challenge prizes etc...to make it what it is today.

I am just going to repeat the rules here "Because the forum does cost time and money, I am going to ask there there is no unsolicited promotion of any other sites or products.

I have no problem if someone is looking for something and you say "I got it at XYX shop."

When you come on here and start topics about things that no one is asking about and all your posts are about one thing, it is pretty clear where you are headed.

Suleima, your friend was asked and warned numerous times to cease and desist. She was not attacked. And yes there are so many specialized groups on Face Book and I would highly encourage everyone to discover those as well in the spirit of learning and growing.

To help other painters, is the entire reason for having started this, the shop, because I thought I could do a little better than most with the shipping costs/speed and customer service. Thanks so much for all your support!
