Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I seem to have trouble with white on the eyelids creasing soon after I put it on. I've tried brushing it on, and sponging it on. I've tried letting it dry and going over it again. I was using tag, but switched to DFX which seems to be worse. I'm working where it's not hot or humid. I don't think my paint is too wet, what am I doing wrong? Or is that just the nature of paint on the eyelids? Help please, I find it very frustrating especially when doing tigers, and cheetahs.

That's one of the reasons I like Starblends on eyes, they are a little more sturdy. You will have to powder the paint. I do that on eyes even if I'm not doing a whole Starblend design so it's more comfortable. Before I got the Starblends I would just use powder or white eyeshadow and set the paint.

I completely agree. If you are going to invest in even 1 starblend color.. get white. Tigers.. spideys... skull faces. It's a must in my opinion. If not a powder, then you should really try a paint with a creamier base. DFX is a "harsh" paint, kinda like wolfe. They are the BEST for linework, but a little too opaque for base work. I like paradise white a lot. JMHO.

I use DFX and don't have any trouble as long as they let it dry before they open their eyes.
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
Another vote for star blends, but when I use paint for bases on tigers, it is paradise, I don't find that it creases because of the consistency. Paradise is really creamy and can be put on a little more sheer.
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I really prefer paradise white for bases, including anything over eyes. I find TAG/DFx/Wolfe white too sticky and prone to wrinkling when I base out a face with them. I'm not a huge fan of starblends, but they do have their place for this exact thing.
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I tried Starblends and found them to be too powdery and hard to work with and too sheer for me. I will give Paradise white a try. Has anyone tried Fab white?
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I use TAG Pearl White, which goes on quite sheer and shimmery for tiger faces. And putting it on with a soft FWW sponge, it goes on almost like eyeshadow. Love it! I haven't noticed any creasing problems.
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I second the Tag pearl white! However, if you need a solid white non-pearl base, DFX and TAG are NOT the answers! I'm debating between trying Snaz white or buying a star blend...
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I'm more for Paradise white for sponging on the eyes. No creasing problems at all. Kryolan creases horribly..... I like Starblend also, but sometimes the powder can get in the child's eye....

Try a Kabuki brush. You don't have to spend a lot on them, can get an EcoTools kabuki brush at any cosmetic supplies store or section of the store for less than $10. I love mine. It uses very little paint, is feather light, and can damp/dry brush on an even thorough coverage of white.
I bought the metal swivel one, that retracts and can be capped. I use the retraction to change the size of the brush a bit, so I can still use it on tiny areas. It's my absolute favorite for smooth, even, blended white coverage with no drips, no cracks, and no irritation.
To rehydrate it, use your misting bottle. You'll be surprised how seldom you have to reload it.
And to clean it for another color just use the circular motion on a paper towel until the paint is sufficiently "gone" to switch colors.

I use a sponge for the color then use a big poufy blush brush to dust off the powder. I haven't had an issue yet, knock on wood!

That is a great tip Liz, I never think of my Kabuki Brush!
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I used my 'buki to red-ify someone's face while doing Darth Maul... it does really speed things up! I find that the FWW sponges are great for applying a full-face white. It goes on reaaal smooth, and I use Wolfe. Great for skulls and dalmatians.

I have FAB silver and gold, and I find that they are essentially paradise--including the perfume, which is why I avoid Paradise. I'm with the Starblends folks on this one.

Love this advice, can't wait to try it! Thanks!

Yay! I'm so glad! Best part is the crazy looks you get from kids when you test it on your arm for consistency after you rehydrate it.

Are you referring to the kabuki brush?
Re: Trouble with White Paint on Eyes Creasing~ Help!
I have liquid foundation brushes that look like big filberts. I use them for bases and I sponge also, but I find the foundation brush to be softer , and more accurate. It also blends well. It does super fast tiger eyes and spidery eyes, dogs ears and muzzles.

Yep, I'm referring to the kabuki brush And the FWW green sponges are worth every penny! Just ordered some from the facepaintforumshop.com and LOVE them. Don't know why i didn't buy them before, and won't ever be without them again.
Eva--I love those brushes too. Leaves are great with the big filberts as well.

I'm finally warming up to my FWW sponges. I really like them for laying down NON-rainbow cake colours, especially white.
When I use them with rainbow cakes, I find the colours don't go on as crisply as they do with my firmer Wolfe sponges. With the FWWs, the colours blend too much and go on too softly. The Wolfe sponges keep their shape better, so the colours stay way more separated.
