I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
I recently purchased paradise for the first time, and I am still trying to get the right consistency with the paint. When my model opened her eyes when I finished I almost passed out.[img][/img]
I apparently used too much water and it settled around the eyes.
Thank God it was a friends kid. I felt terrible, she said it didn't hurt, but she could see it.

I've done that myself, comes out in two seconds without damage. Don't feel bad!
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
what's the split you used for the neon base?
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
ooooo .... I can't look at that without my eyes freaking out and watering everywhere .... I know it doesn't hurt as my daughter got it in my eye when she painted me and I have had all colors of paradise in my eyes when I wash it off.
It does make everything foggy for awhile though... usually if the paint gets too close their eyes start watering and the whole thing can be a disaster if you don't act quick... your model was a trooper and a half! Did you just use baby wipes to fix it?
In the last three months or so I have been using Tag pearl white for white bases and eyes and just using the paradise when I need a very solid opaque white or for details and lining - the Tag is much lighter on the eyes and gives a nice sheen to it - so if the kid wants a full face skull they don't have thick white make-up/paint all over them and it drys much faster then the paradise so you can get in quick with the black over the top.

Its my first run on the design, I hope to make it more mine and refine the lines alot.
Tamariel, It is a DFX neon rainbow from Metina's shop.
Helena, I really like the paradise for the bases, I have always used snaz white for my bases before, I like them both, but the paradise seems to lay better for a thick white.
She was such a trooper, her mom said everytime I turned my back she would start to cry, then act normal when I turned back around. She washed it off with soap in the bathroom, and then actually let me paint her again.

Oh man, I feel your pain...I JUST had this happen like an hour ago with Paradise Black on a friends kid as well. She said it looked funny and that her eye was watering but it didn't hurt. I felt so horrible! I realized after the first eye that when I got anywhere near her eyes they'd start watering...and I remember in a silly farm video that I watched she said something to the effect of hurrying on the eye part of a design because the girl she was painting had the tendency to tear up when she painted near her eyes.
So glad she let you paint her again! I was surprised when my friends kid requested a playdate for next week so I can paint her again.

aw what a sweetheart, crying when you couldn't see so you wouldn't feel bad
I usually use snazaroo for white bases too (and red for spiderman) - I've been debating whether or not to try paradise, (because of the varied views on here, actually) but so far am enjoying my diamond fx and tag for line work.
It sure is a vibrant colour pallet though

I think I will stick to the snaz red and black for bases, but I am gonna give the paradise awhile before I make a decision on it. I use a foundation brush because it is easier to define boarders, so I may try it with a sponge next time and see if that helps any.
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
I have done it to myself with Paradise black. It doesnt hurt at all. You are definitely foggy for a little while though. It didnt even make my eyes water...which I though was strange. I just blinked a couple of times an was good to go. She is a trooper though...a little scary the first time. I <3 my Paradise paint.
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
freaky thanks for sharing the info. I use to use paradise white to do full face bases but I've run out & haven't re-ordered. Luckily I never had this happen.
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
oooo i can't look...my eyes hurt lol. Im glad she was a trooper for you though
Re: I made a big boo boo with paradise white around the eyes.
Same thing happened once while painting my daughter with tag regular white. It was just too watery I guess. I used eye drops and a tissue to clear it up. Strangely she said she could see just fine and didn't feel anything either.

Ouch! I've never done it on anyone else, but I have put a whole glob of DFX black in my eye... the lights went out & it took a few minutes before I could see again.
Did you use a sponge or a brush? I try not to brush around kids eyes, only sponge. It's more controllable.
