face paint in hair?

I did it for my son's crazy hair day at school. Even tried a flame stencil on the side..

I love the look but would be afraid to do it. God forbid it stained, especially on blonde or treated hair, I'm afraid the people would go NUTS, lol!!!!!

I've offered hair art for 10 years, I think in each municipality people must read then interpret the laws accordingly. Sometimes that comes down to some simple ways in which you handle the technique or application of what you are doing combined with proper wording about what your offering.

In some areas makeup artists require certification, so while face paint is makeup, and I prefer to refer to it as such, that too can boarder a sensitive area with professional certified makeup artists.

If you have top ask what make Cali different..... I mean come on it's California. We are larger fiscally than many nations. Laws protect people in many ways including on the job. Hair has a lot to do with hygiene. As does face art. Many of us have said for many years, if people who ask for pay to face paint do not act professionally and adhere to higher professional standards than hobby painters sooner or later big brother will require laws to govern us too. Part of these standards include hygiene of course, but also knowing about and how to properly use and apply products. Such as the fact that hair can be stained and an expensive highlight color job ruined by an undereducated face painter for casual festival goer just looking to spice up her day! On the flip side hair can have some face paints added for fun and it can be that simple, but you must be in the know.

I think I may have sent my daughter to school with Slightly blue hair once.. totally worth it though, and they all understood she was the face painters daughter
