This is my first try at a contest. I was trying to think of something to represent the spirit of the holiday without being overly cliche. My friend helped me come up with the idea for and Autumn Spirit. I don't do so good at (creating) masks usually, but I thought I'd give this a shot. I think... I should shoot it again. Haha! Sometimes I think I should just "leaf" this face painting to the professionals, I might be "bark"ing up the wrong tree, setting myself up for a big "fall". But if they are too busy I could always go out on a limb and chlorophyll in for them. AAAAAnd I'll just show myself out now.... X3


Basic colors- the smaller leaves are actually orange, while the rest of the face is orange and red. Cameras tend to blur the two colors together as one for some reason.

Outline small orange leaves

Outline the rest of the design, placing vein bits where appropriate, creating the illusion the background is multiple leaves.

Final step: Throw self into leaf pile.

I think it doesn't look so bad, thats why I'm entering with this one.
The more I see it, the more I laugh, it's funny, but I find it creepy, fortunately I know it's me LOL

how do i post my pictures for the challenge????

I see an icon that is called "host a picture" (screen with floppy next to it) that's how I upload my pictures. (6th from the left)

Help! How Do I Get My Pictures Here?? They r In my gallery labeled Halloween challenge But I can't Get them Here??

Four Wildflowers---at the home page look under USING THIS FORUM--they tell you 2 ways to post-- That is where someone told me to go and it was helpful---I load straight from my computer--no need to download to the gallery if you don't want too.

I put them on photobucket then copy and paste the IMG tags into the post.

Daphne--your picture is crazy--painting on your own eyes is super hard--plus your red looks almost photoshopped--What did you use for your colors?

Used the DFX skin colour palette and black.



Toned down the wrinkles before the final pic as I felt I was looking too much like a monkey rather than a psycho man! Wish I'd come up higher under my eyes with the mask - driving me crazy!

@amylady I've used White from PartyXplosion and grey and the red from Superstar. (And a lot of my friends asked me if this is done with photoshop.. but it's really facepainting and bad flashlight)

These step by steps are a bit lame (sorry) I only sat down to play with the idea, but was happy with how it was turning out so decided to start taking pics (if it doesn't qualify, I understand)
