Arty Cake Vs. Raiinbow Cake?

I ask a lot of questions so thanks in advance for all your help!

What is the difference between an Arty Cake and Rainbow cake

so far all I could tell is shape and variety of color (Arty seems more monochromatic and Rainbow has a larger variety of colors in one cake)

Which do you perfer and why?

I prefer TAG for several reasons.

They have a bit more paint.
The paints are all TAG, so they wear a bit more evenly.
I prefer the white containers. (I have no idea why.)

One big thing about arty cakes is they are made from different brands of paints. Tag cakes are all tag. Dfx is all Dfx paint. Arty cakes are make by silly farms and can have Snazaroo Wolfe and any other paint they carry. I hav them, but they don't wear evenly. All cakes seem to wear to the outside of the container but w/ arty some paints are softer then others and wear differently. They still are great to have though...

I thought rainbow cake was just the larger sized "mixed" colors, arty was silly farms one stoke cake, and then tag has their own (are there any other brands making one stokes)
I do agree with the arty cake wearing unevenly though.
I've had success with creating my own (simple) cakes (using same brand/kinds of paint) using metina's little containers, but I have to say that I love the one stroke containers that tag uses. I've not found anything at the craft stores ect. That match that size and width.

If you have a party store nearby they have mini card decks that are approx 1 11/16 x2 3/8. don't buy the ones at the $ store, the ones I bought had a circular hole in the bottom and had to return. Metina also sells some cases one stroke size in her shop here...

Rainbow cake is really just a term. Arty Brush Cakes is a brand name.

Arty Brush Cakes are made with different brands of paint, the colors are chosen by their vibrancy and consistency, the best of the best. I have arty brush cakes, paradise prisma cakes, tag one strokes and rainbows. After using them all just like using different brands of paint you find that its personal preference. You need to practice in order to perfect your stroke and sponging. Choose by the color combo you like. Hardly any of the multi colored cakes or one strokes will wear evenly because even if they are the same brand, some of the colors may be softer or drier than others. I personally do not like Tag one strokes because they are not cut straight and the colors muddle to much, they are to soft. I have a bunch of Tag one strokes but prefer arty brush cakes. Try a few, 2 at the most of each brand, to see which ones are easier for you to use. I say 2 because once you start filling your cart, your going to want them all.
