glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Do any of y'all do parties with both? If so how xo you charge? I looked but haven't found anything on here!
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I do both. I have party packages for face painting and packages for glitter tattoos but I also offer to add the glitter tattoos to the face painting party for an additional fee. I find that if they will have a large range of ages at a party they like both so they have something for everyone.

Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
If you dntmind, could u share ur prices? I plan on taking my son and I'm stumped on how to add on the GT and how to charge if it's a GT. Party only!
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
My rate is $50 dollars an hour for 10 kids and they can choose from glitter tattoo Or face painting.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I would say if you want to do both, charge as an add-on. Say if you charge $50 an hour, you will add on glitter tats for an extra $25 to make it $75 an hour. (For example...) I would definately put a package together though as previously mentioned. We normally don't have an all glitter-tat party, unless its a pool party- its normally an add-on for the kids as an extra perk.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Ok so for my one hr parties it $75 for less then 10 kids, if I add GT it's $100. Then for my 2hrs/10-20 kids its $100 so thn I'd makethat one #125.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Just make sure its enough to cover your supplies. If you order the stencils it gets expensive, especially if you only use 1 per kid. If you can get multiple uses out of each stencil, that could save you some money. So I would say, if an extra $25 covers the cost of your tats, plus some profit, its a good number.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Reuse a tatt? Never tried that, I always have issues getting thm off! Im going to try that!
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I can usually get 3 tattoos out of 1 stencil before it degrades the quality of the tattoo, depending on the complexity of the tat. If it has a lot of separate little pieces, they are hard to reuse. We try to get stencils with only 1 piece for this reason, and so we're not trying to find those little pieces and pick them off individually.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Sanitation of re-using tatts is at best questionable. I would charge more and impress the client on your health practices.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
If you sanitzie before, I don't see a problem. I don't understand what is unsanitary about it, epecially when the majority of the tats go on arms.
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
If I add them on to a face painting party, making it a package, I charge slightly less than my hourly rate. For each hour booked. So if the client wants two hours, it is 60X2.
If it is straight up Glitter Tattoos for the party, it is my standard hourly rate and NOT an add on. Does that make sense?
I don't reuse the tattoos. You aren't saving much by doing so but the perceived uncleanliness by parents is not something I would want to risk. I do make a bit of a show of cleaning my brushes of glitter, cleaning my hands, using the alcohol to clean the skin, etc.

Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
If a client wants to add glitter tattoos as an option to a face painting party, I call that an add on. So I bring the glitter tattoos in addition to face painting guests.
I charge a reduced rate for add ons. My regular rate for FP is 90 per hour. To add on glitter tattoos is $60.
If the client has booked two hours and is adding on then I charge that additional $60 for both hours.
In your scenario above, you would want to make the rate for a two hour party $150, not $125. The additional rate should be for each hour.

If a client just wants glitter tattoos, no face painting, like for a pool party then the price is my regular hourly rate of $90 and not the reduced add on rate of $60.

Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
Caswelll, do you bring someone along to do the glitter tattoos while you face paint, or are you jumping back and forth between the two?
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
That was my next question! I want to bring my son asmy tatoo artist! Would I charge the same way and just break him off a cut?
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I had to go back through and re-read. Now I see what you are asking! Duh.
Okay, the scenario I had replied with is if I add on and bring my son. I keep a percentage to cover supplies, he gets the rest.
Same thing if they add on balloons. I bring him if he's available.
If not I offer to pre-twist to hand out to kids OR suggest extending the time.
IF I were to try and offer both, by myself, I still charge a good amount because you are going through product which is more costly than face paint AND switching back and forth takes time and patience and good organizational skills. At least that's how I feel.
If the glitter tats are booked by themselves, not additional to other entertainment, I charge my regular hourly price not the add on.
You have to consider that you are prepping beforehand, driving, and then have clean up.
Sorry if I confused anyone. I really shouldn't read threads when I am tired...

Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I was looking for this information as well - thank you!!
Re: glitter tattoos n face painting parties
I hire my daughter as an add-on. I haven't been asked to do glitter tattoos separately as a party yet. It's a good deal for the client because they are basically getting another artist for only $25 per hour more (in my area) and she gets $18 per hour for her time and I get the rest for materials. That's twice what she makes at her regular job and I'm providing transportation.
I was hired for a college fair again this year and I suggested that they hire another glitter tattoo person (we'll train them and bring them) because it takes pressure off the face painting line and is great for older teens and adults.
You might have a friend that would love to be trained and come along so you don't have to worry about it. It pays for itself.
