Glimmer art and Pashur were to much to handle at Kidvention and I bought myself a starter set. I even got his special wingless fairies, so pretty!
It would seem people love it as I have alreadly booked a party and I have only ever done one tattoo! lol
They are requesting the 'black flat' tattoo look. Isnt that the black mica powders? Where can I purchase this and quick if possible. I checked forum shop but didnt see it? Thanks for helping and back to the grind of life.

Amerikan Body Art sells it too but I don't think their shipping price is great. You might want to read the thread about doing mica tattoos. They are different than glitter tattoos. I've had kind of a hard time with them.

Putting the mica in a poof and applying a thin coat of glue and letting it dry until clear (with the stencil on) appears to be the technique of choice.

I got all my mica here:
http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CatalogID=17&GroupID=792&CategoryID=2082&CategoryName=Satin+and+Pearl+Mica+Powder

It's a soap supply shop, but all the micas are cosmetic (since soap is also a cosmetic product!)

Just looking at the black mica alone, it seems a few bucks cheaper than Coastal Scents. 1oz for $5.50 on CS, compared to 2oz for $8.70. Plus I think Wholsale Supplies does free shipping.

Good luck! Mica tats are so fun! Very Happy

Woohoo for glitter tattoos! I'm waiting for my first shipment from faketoos and signature glitter.
Hubby suggested holding off to offer them as a party add on, until I know how many I can do in an hour, so I can most accurately price myself. So I'll be offering them at my first festival of the year in April!!
Just out of curiosity, how are you pricing your glitter tattoo party, in relation to your FP party prices? Do you charge more, since you will likely do more an hour, and that will cost you more? Are you charging the same?
I'm curious as to how people decide what to charge.

Im literally going to charge per person. I have decided to charge by colors. $5 for one color. $6 for two tone $7 for three (up to five) and $10 for the wingless fairies (up to five glitters) They have more of a wow factor anywho. If a PARTY books me, I will still charge per person I think. Im charging a solid $10 for the event tomorrow night though because its a fundraiser so Im giving part of profits to school, half actually. I wont go below $5 a tattoo. I dont have any tiny ones or I would charge less for them. these are so addicting. I still love face painting better though

Ah! Charging per person sounds interesting. Why charge more for more than one color, though? Doesn't the glue only hold "so much" glitter, no matter the color?
Did you get poofer bottles, or are you brushing it on?
I have so many questions!!!!
Okay, I may be *slightly* excited about getting mine. (I got poofer bottles.)

The best success I've had applying mica is to use a thin coat of glue, let it get a bit dry and tacky, and then use a lollipop sponge applicator to apply the mica. It works really really well.

Tara - this link is from amerikanbodyart, and on this page are excellent tips and a great video showing a mica tattoo being applied. It's where I learned. Erika has a lot of helpful info on her site. It's also worthwhile to read her newsletters, because she really has a wonderful philosophy about a lot of things. Surprised) Joan

Re the bottles, go for luer lock, thats what I now use/ sell as the jaquard/ glitzer/ liquid bling bottles with the push-in tips and push on tops 'pop' open (and are a pain to refill) and explode glue all over you/ your work.

NOT FUNNY!

I can't tell as their colour codes are different to what I can get in the UK but most of the screw-on tips and cones were too large or too fine for all the cosmetic glues I tested. I had to order about 30 sizes/ types to try, so trust me on this - they are mainly aimed at henna in the beauty industry and henna, of course, is very different to our glues.

I now only sell 2 sizes of tips... in the UK they are a metal tip with pink or purple bases, but I can't tell which from the pics you linked to as they look different to mine. I did sell the orange too but found its SO fine even the superfine needles I had to source specially to help clear blockages won't fit and the alcohol can't get thorugh- so once blocked they are blocked:( on the whole the screw on tips are easier to clean thoug, if you have a spare matching bottle filled with rubbing alcohol you just squirt/ sit the bottle tip down then squirt out the 'jelly' it dissolved old glue into.

MUCH neater/ easier/ better to clean:)
I use 3/4 oz ovals as a working bottle, they fit hands best...
