Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Hi! I'm rather new here.
I have my first PPF gig in 2 weeks (other paid gigs have been paid/hour or paid/event) and was asked to have multiple pricing options. I was thinking of offering jewels/gems and glitter gel as an up-sell option. I have never used glitter gel though so I was thinking of buying one bottle to start. I've read a few threads on glitter gel, Liquid Bling and Suzy's Sparkles, etc. What do you recommend as a first color? Should I go with holographic gold or the platinum that everyone raves about or something else?
Thanks!

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I have 13 now - but I don't have platnum but.... I would always recomend to anyone a gold type as a first colour - be it holographic gold, gold or soft gold. I use more gold than anything as it goes with every thing and a silver as the next colour.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Now that I have gotten better using it, I am thrilled!
The only negative (and it's minor)... if your hands are damp or wet the ink on the label runs and then you can't see your name, Suzy! I imagine it would cost more to have a gloss label that would prevent that... baby steps, baby steps!

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Ronnie, you must have missed the thread, someone suggested clear packing tape to go over the label...so that's easy and keeps cost down for us.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I just got the Platinum today and I gotta say it's freakin awesome! I would say that it's the best of both worlds when going back and forth between gold and silver.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Thanks, Sandy... I did, indeed, miss that thread... or didn't read all the comments...

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I read somewhere that glitter gels should be stored upside down. Is this true? How do you keep them upside down? It'd be nice if the cover let them stand upside down. I was kind of thinking of putting some Velcro tape on them so they could be stuck upside down to the side of something.

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
so I am still learning how to work with these. I get a thick line and then it takes a while to dry and I am worried about it rubbing off on clothes etc. Is my goal to make a very fine line so this doesn't happen. It doesn't seem to stand out that much that way.
And are the spreading it as you go, or just making a line?
Thanks!

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
It doesn't take much pressure on the bottle to make a fine line. Try to squeeze a little on the back of your hand to get the flow going before you apply to the design.
I don't do any spreading, if I'm reading your question correctly. I just make the line by squeezing as I pull the bottle.
I used several colors for the design in this video tutorial:
