Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Suzy, I tried the glitter yesterday and I couldn't making it work good: big blobs, and thick lines, I tried really hard to control the lines and even put a silver tip on it, at the end I gave up and went back to my liquid bling. What did I do wrong?
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I had the same trouble with mine on Friday so I didn't even try to use them for lines yesterday or today.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I have the same problem with one of my blings (just one) and have found that as I tend to lie them down in storage the glitter tends to mass on a side. - it took me a while to figure out silly me it was very subtle and hard to see. but the solution lies in shaking it. I mean Really really shaking it. I have ordered but don't have a suzie sparkles yet - but I know that it says to store upside down to avoid clogs and I am thinking (not having used one though) that prehaps it needs a really good shake to distribute it evenly again. I don't know if it will work or if you have tried it but thought that having had a similar problem with a bling it may be worth a try.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I have never had that issue..... work on squeezing lighter. The harder you squeeze the more that comes out. Try having a lighter touch perhaps?
You can practice on something like wax paper and then put it back in the bottle so you don't waste...
Hope that helps? Keep me updated!!

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I tried it out today. I had one bottle of Suzy in the Fuschia and one Liquid Bling in Gold (without the metal tip)... have to say I was having better luck with the Bling.
The pink was chosen by about 75% as the colour they wanted so I used it... found it tended to end in a little blob (with practise I could probably stop that) and it clogged at least four times, I had to bang it on the table and shake it down again (I had it sitting upright with the lid off the whole day) while the Bling didn't clog once with the same treatment.
I have some of the soft gold too so I will give that a try next big gig and see how it handles.
I did find the size of the bottle a bit uncomfortable - I have grip issues and found it took a lot more squeeze pressure than the smaller Bling bottles in order to keep it flowing evenly as I could. That's my physical limitations at play though.
The little girls LOVED it. So that was cool.

Hey guys--I know a TON of you love suzy's glitter gels and I can't wait to order mine but I am wondering...have any of you used it as an upgrade at a
PPF event? Do you think this has the wow factor needed to do that?

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Absolutely without a doubt it has the WOW factor, we simply cut our faces back for time and added bling rather than an up grade...our lines are moving faster and everyone is happy.
I have found a HARD shake makes a difference in the flow, I have RA so am surprised the small bottles worked better. Suzy's bottle size is much kinder to my hands...perhaps it is WHERE you are putting the pressure or perhaps the angle you are holding the bottle. I use it just like I'm writing and had a clog or two but no big deal. I've used everyone on the market for several years, used Erick's when they first came out and gave Mark Reid's a go, but by far Suzy's out performs for my crew...there are 6 of us using them.
Now, I will say order slowly, the grape and lavender aren't both necessary, pick one, you can end up with too many choices to move fast. I haven't gotten the Platinum they were talking about but will probably make it a staple in our new kits. Lime is great, and the burgundy can go with many faces, silver and gold are in our kits too.
But to explain we do our kitty in starblend on the muzzle, quickly up the nose, eyelids and triangles for ears. We load unicorn cake with a flat SMALLer brush so we use the color pink and purple or the other side of teal and white and a touch of pink. Quickly outline ears thin to thick lines use what is left on the brush for hair sticking up between ears and the SUZY's gel. Outline the ears and quick light strokes over the hairs. Notice we've used no black to outline yet. Now we outline muzzel, do wiskers and brush end of nose. Little loose glitter and she is ready to go.
Working so much in heat (NOT this month) but soon our mothers really like the cut back faces, but still have the WOW because of the glitter gel.
Now how will the glitter gels hold up in the heat is the next question??

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Okay, skjfunny, I must see a picture of this kitty! She sounds adorable!
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Oh, And I had some trouble with the gold clogging, too. I've shaken it madly, rinsed out the tip several times and still doesn't work. Just FYI. But I emailed Metina, and she is getting back to me. All three of my other colors are fabulous, and I ordered a platinum! Squeal!
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
All of the sizes of glitter are the same... The only thing I can think that happens sometimes is I get a little too glitter happy and put too much in making it too thick.
Anyone seriously having an issue with a color let me know. I have always stood by the gels and will continue to.
I mean serious issues..... Like un-usable, I will make good on it for you.

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I believe Suzy's business will only grow because we can all give our input then she can make her product the best on the market...who else has a research and development team like this forum makes???
Just got in from a restaurant job, booked every day this week. Will look for photo and post it...please realize the faces I do are about making money not impressing other artists, so it certainly won't be the "face" everyone wants to do....but it works for all our artists and clients. Will start searching for one. Another point I don't see much mention of is that Suzy's Glitter Gel actually dries!.. Please understand I don't believe I've every met her so this isn't a best buddy review, just know her from comments and product from forum.

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
I use Suzy's gels, I have lots of them!
If you pick up a bottle of Suzy's and squeeze it just like you would squeeze a bottle of Liquid Bling, then yeah, you're gonna have thick lines and blobs.
The whole thing about Suzy's is that it IS different than Liquid Bling, because you can squeeze very gently and get a hair-thin line, or if you want a thick line or want to fill in an area, you squeeze firmly. I am able to make graduated rows of dots and teardrops, lines of all thicknesses. You just have to handle them differently than you do Liquid Bling or Glittermark.

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
My only problem is... I SUCK AT USING THEM!
I really need to practice. I tried to outline a batman mask with Suzy's lovely Platinum gel and I made an awful mess of it. I was trying to go too fast, and I think I just don't have enough experience with it yet. I hate to waste any of it for the sake of practicing... but I think I might have to!

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
As I noted I have grip issues... having to hold and squeeze a bottle is not really that easy nor pleasant and I generally only use the bling around Christmas. Suzy's bottles do make a nice fine line, and the blobbing probably was me... I'm not able to keep an even, steady pressure which would give better control. If I need to curve a line of it by twisting my wrist I have to shift my grip which changes the flow pressure... so as I said, it was probably me causing the blobs.
I'm going to try out the gold next week.

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
Skjfunny that was very informative, thank you!!
Suzy, do you recommend storing the gels upside down?
Do the gels show up well in pictures like if I put one on my display board?
And finally, for those of you who have several colors, which one would you recommend if you had to pick one? I am a one color gel/glitter kind of gal:)

Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel
We practice on wax paper and there is nothing to getting it back in the bottle...easy pezzy. Often new girls we lay wax paper over a design they want to practice to paint for easy practice. However use glitter gel only on the wax paper not on the painted wax paper.
Re: Suzy's Sparkles Cosmetic Body Gel

No doubt about it. The platinum is stunning.
Got mine today an I couldn't be happier. Tried it out, and no problems.
