Miss Yoko, I don't know if you still frequent here, but I thought you would want to know this person has stolen your pics. According to a FP friend of mine of facebook, this person steals a LOT of people's pics, so you all might want to take a look and see if any of yours are there.

LOL at "Special Mention: We had our art displayed on the front page of the Times Daily (the dominant newspaper of NW Alabama). Unfortunately we were not given credit for our work, ... Oh well "

You know guys I had a dream (I guess a nightmare actually) that my mom and I took my son a face painting booth. They were using crap like Crayola markers and crayons and nothing FDA approved. For some weird reason I guess my son still got face painted and when he spun around it was just a black circle over one of his eyes.
I totally let them have it. LMAO! Told them I would show them what real face painting is. lol *weird*

Wasn't there a thread ages ago about someone stealing Miss Yoko's look but changing the colour?? Same hair pieces etc.. there were a few verbal punches pulled if I recall...

I can hardly believe people. Well, having the over developed sense of justice that I have, I emailed her. Here's what I said.

Hi Sandy!
I saw your website and facebook page. I can tell that you are a very busy face painter, with plenty of action. You are a very talented up-and-coming artist, and I wish you well.
However, using photographs of someone else's work is not only misleading to your prospective clients, but unethical and considered theft. There are several pictures that I recognize as other people's work, specifically the one you have showing as your profile pic on your blogger website. This is unacceptable in the face paint community, and I must advise you to remove it, as well as the other photographs that are not your own work.
You stated that your artwork appeared in your local newspaper, but that your company wasn't given credit. I'm sure you see the irony.
I am choosing to write you privately, instead of posting directly to your facebook wall, as a professional courtesy. We all make bad choices sometimes, and I understand how daunting it is to get our work out there in the community. Please do the right thing.

Would you hire her if she painted herself like Yoko, and then even wasted the calories to post picture of some of the other faces? I mean...poor thing. It just makes you wonder. She must understand what good painting is, so by putting up bad line work, next to good line work, and good blending next to terrible blending...it just, well, makes it even more obvious that some of that work is not hers, or, it says that she is an extreeeeeeeeemly patchy painter, meaning that one in 100 painting is fabulous, and the other 99 are not so much. I would be disapointed in that work, especially the picture that you might think was the artist...upon first glance, leads you to think that you are getting world class talent.

I did notice Chucklor's avatar painting. I'm going to PM her.

I would say so. From the post I read on FB's face and body painters page, she is being contacted by multiple people, including Lilly, Miss Yoko and many others. Hopefully, she will pull them soon.

Can Miss Yoko "Report Abuse" to her BlogSpot, and FaceBook? If someone used my child's image without permission, I can assure you that they would have a "Lisa-sized hole" through them.

It looks like she changed her profile pic on FB but not yet on Blogger. She deleted the comments regarding her stealing the pics. It's funny I saw them one second and the next got a message saying it couldn't display them anymore. I guess she was deleting while I was looking and tried to hit "like"on the comments.
Hmmm... people really do have some nerve. On the other hand good for you all to bring it to peoples' attention and big credit to you rthling for calling her on it. And in a very diplomatic way!

Goodness.... she really needs some work! When I first started painting, I was just doing it in my sisters' little boutique store as a promotional thing. I didn't know the "rules" and I printed off some pictures online of things I could "attempt" for them. It wasn't anything I put work into, just a handful of pictures for me to reference as I tried to paint. I can see where someone could be naive as to why that was "wrong" when they are barely learning.... (I didn't understand at the time... 5 years ago). But to put someone else's painting on your website? That's ridiculous... much less her avatar picture? You HAVE to know that's not right! No excuses there. If you are actually displaying your "work" for advertising... you should know better. I had no face painting community to learn from, but I knew better than to do that.

Ok we all get inspiration from others and sometimes copy a little bit of someone else style but somehow we make it our own ...REALLY if your copping my design do it then post a pic of it just DO NOT POST MY PIC ...

OMG...I am sorry but do people actually pay someone to face paint for their events with such horrible paintings? Why am I so hard on myself. hahahaha

I sent her an email too. She needs to realize that she's doing something wrong here, and I'm glad so many people are telling her.

The images she posted on Facebook compared to the stolen ones on her website are laughably different!

That mascara pic in the Watermelon Festival folder is scary. Goodness, I hope that was her child or she got a *really* good deal on the product and could trash after one use.

I am glad that she has that on her Watermelon pictures. It shows her lack of hygiene and lack of basic knowledge of make up and face paint.
