My face painting and mica tattoo kits! (lots of pics!)
I'm finally happy with my kits, so I thought I'd post them! Warning... lots of pics!
Face Painting kit:
I found this clear plastic container at Wal-Mart in the craft aisle. It fits all my stuff perfectly!
First layer: mirror, one-stroke and rainbow cakes container, Wolfe metallix kit, glitters, wipes, spray bottle with water.
My mini-case: DFX Neon rainbow, some TAG splits, Silly Farm arty brush cakes, a couple glitters and a large TAG pearl teal cake and my Wolfe red cake, all attached with velcro.
Second layer (divided by a piece of illustration board): all my paints! Mostly Wolfe with a few TAG pearls. All attached with velcro at the bottom. Before gigs, I take all the caps off the paints and leave them at home so set-up is super quick!
My brushes and sponges! I keep my sponges in a washable mesh bag that can be put right into the washing machine when they're dirty - a tip I picked up from Brian Wolfe!
All my face painting gear ready to go!
My mica tattoo kit:
Once again, a perfect little tackle-box I found at Wal-Mart.
Top layer: wipes, business cards, disposable applicators and my mica powders.
Second layer: alcohol wipes, pros-aide, toothpicks (to lift up the stencils), blush brush to brush away excess mica, and my accordian-style folders for my stencils.
I have two; one for boy designs and one for girl designs.
Stackable containers I got from Dollarama - perfect for storing my mica!
Well that's everything! I hope this will be useful for people just starting out and wondering how to store things. It's perfect for me right now, but once I buy more stuff I may have to look at some different options!

ooo fantastic!! it takes me forever to set up and I hate it. Im just nto certain how else to do it. this certainly clears up a few things and gives my wheels a push to come up with other fun ways to do it! thanks!!

I am always amazed at how someone can think of something so simple and yet I cannot...... A mesh bag for sponges to throw right into a bath...
BRILLIANT!!!!
BRILLIANT!!!!

Ronnie, I know RIGHT! I didn't even think about it until a few months ago, when I watched a 2min interview with Brian Wolfe on FABA about breaking down his (very minimal) set-up, and he simply kept all his sponges in a washer bag to throw right into the wash afterwards! Genius!!

I have those stackable containers too! I keep my gems in mine, organized by color of course . Don't you just love them?
