Re: First Tiger
Thank you, You go for it..I too did butterflies after butterflies..I really love it..I was shock this weekend most of the requests were cats and fairies...This boy's face, eyes and personality made me want to paint a tiger..He gave me boldness and inspired me to paint the tiger..Might sound weird..Sometimes I paint according to the childs personality or looks..Especially if the child is uncertain.I did tell him that he was my first tiger....He jumped to my decision and got very excited...Do you have that feeling sometimes?

Re: First Tiger
I always get that! I luv it when someone sits in my chair and says "paint me however you want me" Their face speaks to me, I usually do something that ends up totally original and fantastic. The best part is I never tell them what i'm doing. I love the expression on their face as they look into the mirror to discover who they've become.
So I totally understand what your talking about Reneec

Re: First Tiger
I really like the illusions book. I got it when I had only been painting for about 6 months and found the range of designs excellent. The step by steps are detailed enough for a beginner I'd say. There are simpler designs to more detailed and skilful ones. You can start with ones you feel more confident with and then go for something more difficult. One of the other books I really found inspiration from was the 'fast fun faces' book from Illusion too. It helped me to paint fast but effective and good faces on the job. Great step by steps as well and they list the colours they used.
You'd think I worked for them!
And don't forget Shannon's Your face or mine book too!
Hope this is helpful for you!
