Ohhh these are so great! I'm going to paint my first submission tonight, I am so excited!

Wow, friends. This has really been a delightful contest to watch. Not sure I have anything worth entering, but I'm getting so many great ideas!

Here's my entry! When I think 'whimsy', I think Studio Ghibli!



Tools:

• Sponges

• Simply Simmons Round #6 brush

• Loew-Cornell Ultraround #4 brush

• Some random little brush

• Crafter's Choice iridescent glitter (although it doesn't show up in the pictures!)

Paints:

• Wolfe black, white, light blue, dark blue

Steps:


Drawing some simple white outlines, filling in white areas.


Dark blue sky with some light blue highlights!

I love the melting snowman!

I love love love the melting snow man! I will be trying that one out for sure.

I wanted to make a unicorn type mask with a reindeer, the red jingle bell ribbon are the wings...and then I thought it would be cool to add mistletoe...and then of course she and the model got red lips.

I wanted to make a Grinch Christmas design and I like the cute nose characters so at first I drew him with legs but then I thought it would be cooler to have him coming down the chimney and the nose would make a belly hanging over the top. He's pushing down on the eyebrows so if you make him, put his hands right on top of the brow.

I wish someone would do justice to poor little Max. I used to love him as a kid. He just wanted to be a good dog.

Thanks Tanya. I love the way you did the mistletoe...that sweet little ribbon is perfect. Almost looks like a flower design.

PerfectlyPainted...I love your character. He makes me smile every time I pass. I like how you made him on your lips but now I want him to talk! You should shoot a video! He would make a great felt mascot.
