Re: Scabs, wounds, skin....
How long did these take to dry? would it be possible to use latex and shreds of used dryer sheets and do a cut/wound directly on the skin? I'm so frustrated struggling with 'scar wax'...it sticks to my fingers more than anything else...and I've painted on it immediately...I have no idea if it ever dried???

The ones that were "up" as not in direct contact with the lid, they were dry in minutes. Everything was dry in a couple hours, even the oatmeal...
I don't see why you couldn't use a dryer sheet directly on the skin... just make sure it is USED as the new ones are full of fabric softener and that's not good.

I LOVE the mummy! Noella gave me some good tips on "Watermelon" on another thread for scars, sores and scabs...you attach it with alcohol, which makes it fast and easy!

Loved your blog!! So cool!! I so want to try something like this now!! I might have to try and talk my nephew into having a gore party!!
I'm just curious.....when you have the appointments, do they have to tell you ahead of time what they want, or do you work on the fly and have lots of skin etc on standby? How long does the skin last once you've made it? (before you apply it)

Re: Scabs, wounds, skin....
When people make appointments I ask them what they want... some know, some don't, some bring photos, some send me photos... When they get here they might have changed their minds.
I had multiple zombies booked for effects and the dead guy, so I knew I needed peices. Making them is cheaper than buying and they work better.
It was so much faster have it all ready and just attaching it with spirit gum than creating the whole effect on the skin and waiting for it to dry before colouring...
And the latex peices keep forever (or, all the latex I have in my stash is still fine and I've got pre-made items that are over 13 years old) ... I packed up the leftovers for next year. Rubber keeps.
