Zombie skin/wounds: Liquid Latex vs School Glue
So I didn't want to buy expensive liquid latex for a couple zombie gigs I have. I decided to try out the good ole' glue and tp trick. It worked... but the glue took awhile to dry and it dried to a paper mache sort of thing and flaked a bit.
I definitely suggest liquid latex over the glue. Hands down. It dries faster and moves with the skin better. The only downfall is the god-awful stink it has! But all in all much, much better than glue. Plus I don't think insurance would cover school glue??

Zombie Skin doesn't smell as bad as liquid latex & works great!

I needed something for 2 zombies this Friday and I wasn't about to pay more for shipping than the product is worth, otherwise I would've absolutely gotten zombie skin.
I got 16oz of latex for $18.99 so the cost was better than Zombie skin. I'm sure by next year I'll have a full on Zombie kit for gigs such as this lol

I got the $8 jar for now, but hope to get the $32 one by next year.

They both look delightfully yucky..ewwww...I can't do that stuff because it grosses me out too much. You folks make it look so real...ewwww...lol

PS - I'm crazy about this "Zombie" tutorial. The girl just uses a glue stick, tissues and face paint and I think some blood - the face she does is amazing with these simple items, pens your creativity for all sorts of faces!

I am loving all the creative things everyone is doing with zombies, wounds, and gore special fx. I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from Pam Trent. Here was something I did this week.

Both are quite gross. On face Off Roy used Pros Aid Glue & plastic wrap & painted over it. I'm really want to give that a try.
Re: Zombie skin/wounds: Liquid Latex vs School Glue
Ew. My stomach turned.
What are the essentials of a zombie kit, I wonder. I think I need to add tweezers, q-tips, plastic spatulas/knives, black thread, grains of rice...
Anything else? I also want to make sure the client is as comfortable as possible when I zombify them. When they come to you, do you have them watch tv and offer refreshments? Obviously not while painting them, but I have couples coming and think it's only common courtesy to offer drinks.

Has anyone tried the prosthetic "gel" that someone on Youtube makes for Zombie looks?
I found the tutorial....
She talks about it here:
Let me know what you think. I was thinking of testing it out this weekend on myself.

Here's one before the blood. Zombies are really more rotting flesh. The bloody wounds are fresh bites.
Re: Zombie skin/wounds: Liquid Latex vs School Glue
here is a picture of one I did last night with elmers glue and toilet paper...a bruise kit and some fake blood...i have to agree that the liquid latex dries faster and moves with the skin i was just playing with the glue to see how it worked...i think it looks great[img][/img]

Re: Zombie skin/wounds: Liquid Latex vs School Glue
Yes, sorry, they're maggots. Disgusting fly babies.
The zombies come at 5:30 pm tonight... I'm nervous but I'm so excited. I think I'll pre-make the scars on waxed paper before they show so I don't have to worry about too much drying time.

I was at European Convention, here the zombie skin is not popular, they use silicone and use a KRYOLAN power to thick prosaid, it looks exactly like zombie skin.
