There is a UFO conference not too far from me but never thought it would be the right kind of place for face painting. Got to rethink that now.

Alright for your vampires, you will need your normal ones bruga (I Think they are called)
You’re hideous ones nosforatu and your pretty eloquent ones who would probably want some pretty eye design. (Toreador)- This is from Vampire the masquerade and kindred the embraced.
These are two of the cult things behind the vampires. As well as Anne rice the author of interview with the vampire. Although you might have twilight covered. Don’t forget True Blood – I love that show but so do most of the vampire people.
The good thing about vampire balls is most will have their own fangs so you won’t have to paint too many on. some wont though.
For those who are wondering how I know this I actually used to be one of the 4 organisers of Australia’s Largest gaming convention (CANCON) had 12000+ plus people over 3 days maybe more we never really knew as we enrolled about 9000ish applicants but people we free to come and go. (Think like comic con but smaller)I have actually been invited to face paint there next year thinking of going now, after this thread. (It is a long time ago 1999 to 2001)
One of my jobs one year was to run the vampire section –as well as other sections. But we tried to dedicate each of the organisers various section and meet up or walkie talkie for help. But this part was running day and night for the 3 whole days. I got an award as the most fun organiser too.
I PM ed the chief organiser of cancon, He has informed me That True blood is more in than twilight at this type of thing for the serious vampires,(thought that that may be important) but Twilight is bigger with the regular foot traffic. I.e. family’s heading through area. Although he is just a friend and runs a combined war gamer/role player/card and computer game convention. No psychic’s tarot, UFO etc. as I said I have met some interesting people. And did it for my resume so to speak but life gave me special needs child shortly after (who I love tis OK) so I never really got to capitalize helping run this convention/major event. But if there is a vampire ball might want to practice different vampire types.

You have been a super big help Elantura! I would not have had much idea where to turn, but I surly will look it all up and see what I can come up with.
I was thinking of going to our costume shop to see if I could get some vampire fangs (the cemented ones) on consignment, it may be that I could sell them at the ball. I would think that it would be kind of cheesy to paint on fangs for the "real" vampire efficinados.
I have my work cut out for me...and I thought the hardest thing for me was figuring out how to make my sponge bob not look goofy (still have that problem! )
I don't watch True blood and have not been into twilight (vampires used to scare the crap out of me-my Mother is going to die laughing when she hears that I have this gig) and I have a special needs kid who is scared to death by this kind of stuff too, so I have to do my research and painting on the sly. My oldest is into it, and she is banned from speaking of it in the house, as to not freak out her little sister. She would die if she walked in and found something really freaky on Fred Head (my practice head, curently sporty a really sad sponge bob, btw!)
